Topic: VOTE: ITSF Sanctioned Tournaments

Author: foosghost Original Message Posted: May 24 2007 10:57PM

The offline discussion has taken place, and it's time for the exec to vote:

Seeing as SML is non responsive, and there's not much chance we'll be able to run a Master series multi-table event this year (and announce dates, pay sanctioning fee, etc 4 months in advance)

Should we drop the SML ITSF sanctioning, and drop the Master's series ITSF event sanctioning?

Exec, I'll give you three days to respond with your NO vote (to me) - if you do not respond, your vote will count as a YES vote.

Votes can be made up until Tuesday, May 29th, at 11:59pm PST

Note, for those reading, this does not mean we will not have any more ITSF sanctioned events this year, it just means we'll be notifying the ITSF that these ones will not be sanctioned.

Votes are in: and the YES's have it.

But it seems all for not, because, earlier today, i recieved the following email from the ITSF:

This is to let you know that both the Foosapalooza and the TSAC Multitable events have been cancelled by a vote of the Executive Committee on May 24th.
Taking into consideration the fact that TSAC is a new association, no sanction will be taken this time.

Please be aware that if it were to happen again, there would be sanctions next time.
So next time please make sure that tournament promoters guarantee the events will take place before you submit them into the ITSF Tour.

[end of email]

I'm not sure if there was some miscommunication between us, as the timing is all weird, but luckily we end up with the same results.
