Looks like there will be a Foosapolooza tournament this year. Hopefully will be announced within the next few days. The expected dates are April 18-20. Haven't had a tourny in Western Canada for 18 months. I am trying to convince SML to post a guaranteed payout. In the past they paid out around $7,000. There will be a poll on calgaryfoos.com about it.

Ghaa!!!
I start finals on the 21st, this is a bad time if we want any students to play in it.

We have put up two polls for Foosapalloza this year. Please vote on both of them to voice your opinion.
Sorry for two polls but at this time I can find a way to make one poll have multiple options.

SML has communicated that they will guarantee $6,000. Prizes may increase from there. Hopefully flier will be coming soon. The date will be April 18-20. The tables will probably be set up the week prior as the pool tournament for practice. Sorry Eric, guess you are going to have to actually study before hand.

Well...... It's gotta come up some time. Who's ranked what?
Alas, I won't be able to make Foosapalooza. You'll all have to make do without my grating personality and my waning, sub-standard foos skills. Tim

I guess I'll probably be studying in there between matches eh? We all know that I couldn't give up a tournament even if they are my last exams ever.
As far as who is ranked what, I think out of fairness we should get a commity together of players who know everyones game and make decisions that way. At least this way we can spread the blame if someone is mis-ranked. If someone is out of town maybe we could get input from the people they play with regularly. Or for that matter, have someone on the commity from all of the major areas that are attending.
Just my $0.02

I have never played in a tournament before, so I already registered for this tournament as novice or whatever the lowest level is - I'm guessing that was the right sectioin. Either way I want to play against some better players for a couple months. Anyone want to go and play at rosarios or the PO with me and a couple friends tonight? if nobody gets this today just let me know when other people will be heading there to play so I can join in.

I'm probably gonna play with a friend for Novice doubles. Anyone wanna play Rookie doubles with me though?
Linda not sure if you will be allowed to play novice. Better check first. Novice is usually for beginners.
If there are ranking questions send them to calgaryfoos@hotmail.com.
Aww shucks. Well worth a try anyways.
Well gotta ask again, anyone interested in Rookie doubles then?
I'll play Rookie Doubles with you Linda.
yeah linda..ME TOO.. mellon...make sure you come out to play.. as a SP...

what is a decent hotel to stay at?
simon,
i'd stay at the Best Western Village Park Inn. I'd put you up but i have family in from out of town that weekend and 2 messy messy homes lmfao
Just a reminder if you have questions about ranking send an e-mail to calgaryfoos@hotmail.com. If you have previously done well in the novice category there is a good chance you will not be allowed to play in it again. thanks

Hey Brian,
Just wondering will this tournament be using the ISTF rules specificaly regarding the ready protocol and the ball off the table/dead ball?
Don't know for 100 % but I would say yes.
