Entered a tournament and noone gained or lost any points

I'm guessing that someone turned off the points calculation to stop the site from crashing?

The only way you can enter tournaments so the points don't add is to change the code on the calculation pages (which are the input pages)

Just know that it's not my coding that is causing all of these problems and I've offered a number of times to correct it - instead it seems I'm barred from fixing the problem.

This started more than a year ago when I was going to make a change to the pages and couldn't log in, it turned out that someone changed the log in information and then my comments regarding that were ignored. The only reason I can think of is, because I used the same hosting account to post some personal house photos - I was selling my house and put some photos of it online but nothing to do with the foos site - this was back door stuff and is equivalent to leaving some books at work and not taking them home, but then your boss fires you over it - a bit hardcore and ultra strange for a $12 per FULL year (that's one whole dollar per month) 1000mb hosting plan that only uses about 7mb. So even with my photos there was still 990mb left over - you could probably enter a couple million tournaments with the amount of space left over... I still don't understand what the big deal was - since I provided the charity hours to write the code for free..., but whatever, life is short and if people want to be petty then let them look after it themselves - the problem is, they don't have the ability to do so, but that's how things usually go.

Onur, why are we not allowing Skye to help out here!!

It's no big deal to me - I just wanted it to be know that it wasn't any default or lack of effort on my part...

Dave, don't get mad at me, it's not my site. Ask Pete, if he's willing to give him access then that's fine, he can go ahead. It's a load off my back that's for sure.

I've been saying all along though that nothing has changed, not the code or anything else. I'm fairly confident it's an issue on the server hosts end. Sure, we have plenty of server space, however I suspect the database is on a different server, which is hitting its data capacity. Who knows, I could be wrong, I don't know anything about their setup and that's just a wild guess.

In any case, phone or email Peter. I imagine someone has his phone number and if not you can get his email address from his username on the forums here.

Pete...

You misread the meaning when I was stressing the hosting plan was large, my comment was regarding events more than a year ago....

The database is on the same site as the server however I can tell some of the pages have changed...

Either way, I would move the site as you suggested before but because maybe it's someone else's site that is downing the ASP engine. This can easily be happening - for example, if the server added a new site and it's poorly written it could be killing the ASP on the whole server... also the hosting company used is crap. I know of a couple other cheap ones for $12-$20 a year that are a bit better...

I really don't want to be in charge of this site - I just offered before to take a look at what's wrong, I don't need access to the site to figure that out, just the pages and database which were requested before....

Blargh, it was working after I restored the backup files. Guess that wasn't the problem.
