ATTENTION ONUR!
hey bud, how is the site coming along? just curious for an update
DA

It's in Skye's hands now. I just put the temporary site up in the mean time so we had something pointing to the forums. It seemed like he really wanted to work on it as he didn't like what I was doing, so I left it in his hands. I havn't heard from Peter in a while so I assume they're cooking something up.

Your Giving UP!?? Skye was right?? c'mon Onur, does Skye even know that or u just going on your last post?
|

The link below is a snapshot of the www.vancouverfoosball.com site before it got taken down. If you want to add tournaments to it you can, I'll just have to give the database to Skye when his new site comes up or else keep your tourney sheets until Skye's new site comes up.

First time I looked at this site in a week.
ONUR - get this through your incredibly thick scull once and for all. I mean I keep saying the same thing but it's not sinking into your thick head. Sit down and read this a few times until it penetrates your skull and ends up in what's left of your brain. Okay are you sitting down and ready for the full sentence to absorb... here it is:
" I don't have access to the site, or the website pages, or database, and I have NOT ONCE had access in over a year!"
Since you are sitting and concentrating let's try one more sentence:
"I have never implied that I wanted to look after the website, instead, I simply offered to get it working because it was constantly down."
Speaking of Peter. Personally, I think he doesn't want me looking after the site or he would have responded to my email over a year ago when he changed the password and I couldn't access the site. Remember... the PASSWORD was CHANGED!!!!... yes, it was changed.... this is a key point. No password = no access...
Also, I've provided the solution to Peter in a previous thread - remember when I wrote regarding the ultra cheap hosting company that will host his domain. And at the same time I asked Onur for the stat numbers to determine if Peter should get the $10 per year plan or $20 per year plan. Well, Peter never responded and nor did Onur - surprise, surprise... Maybe this is a money issue and Peter doesn't want to pay the $10-20 per FULL year.... how do I know, however, I can confirm that Peter hasn't called me as I DON'T have a phone... yup, that's right, I don't have a phone....
Here's how I look at the situation: I'm not even involved in foosball, however, out of the kindness of my heart I offered to correct the website problem. Then after multiple offerings and having to deal with Onur's wall of pride, I was ultimately blocked from helping. Then all I heard was Onur talk, talk, talk.. and then talk more shit... well, the boy needed to be bitch slapped and I gladly bitch slapped the hell out of Onur.... Then like a typical bitch, Onur cried and gave up... well, don't pass your problems onto me Onur... I've tried and offered to help, many times. You can't ignore my offerings, bad mouth me, and then expect me to pull you out of the shitter... I say, soak it up talker!
Be a man Onur - even spend the $10-$20 dollars that Peter is not willing to spend and move the site to the new hosting account.... add the silly buttons, add the chart, change the year options on the entry page so nobody can make future mistakes (another words make the first selection for the year to be dynamic - this way you won't have to update it next year etc..), and get your self out of the shitter. Seems like a pretty easy solution for you.
And to get you started, here's a wee bit of code to automate the tournament dates..... I think I wrote the original in Java, so here's it in Java:
<!-- var TournamentTime = new Date() var FoosMonth = TournamentTime.getMonth() + 1 var FoosDay = TournamentTime.getDate() var FoosYear = TournamentTime.getFullYear()
//add this to the list menu - to the first setting (individually):
document.write(FoosMonth) document.write(FoosDay) document.write(FoosYear) //-->
|
|
that's it, no more tongue for your jeff...
|
|
What do you have to say to that Onur?
You did offer your services, told everyone that you would and all it seemed like to me was that Skye tried to come along and just help you out. Then he tried to get the ball rolling becuase you weren't, asked you for access, u never gave it to him. Have a meeting with Skye, nothing comes of that. Then u tell us about your proffesion, and now what?
|
|
I'm guessing the problem at present might not be 100% Onur's - that was the past problem... currently the problem is that Peter hasn't provided hosting for the site or maybe he has - only Onur and Peter know that...
I'm sure a lot of us would gladly donate the $10-20 per year for the hosting however Peter owns the domain and I can understand that people would have a bit of a problem paying for something that Peter will financially benefits from. Peter benefits from the site because it attracts players to his venue. If players don't show up because the site is down then Peter doesn't pull the profit he would have received if the site was up. If this was a non-profit arrangement then I'm sure everyone would step up with the price of a couple beer...
Step 1: get hosting
Step 2: Onur uploads the site
|
|
I just found out that Peter is out of commission for a little bit due to non-foos related issues, that's all I'll say.
The temporary page with links to the forum is up until then, if someone else wants to bite the bullet and pay for hosting yourself feel free, and either myself or Shane can email you the latest backup of the site with the most recent points db, though my suggestion would be to reset everyone to their default ranking points. The data has been corrupted due to incorrect data entry and tournaments that just never got entered, so the numbers are way off.
Dave, *bleep* off and go start another fight with Robbie. I've said what I had to say and that's that. I'm not wasting my time in those tournaments anymore, I play foosball to unwind, not add more stress to my life.

I kindly give you an out and that's your reply, that's horrible. Did you think the out was just by chance - well, nothing is by chance - even when you win... ho ho ho
Regarding the site: the best solution is to use the balls at Soho to start a ball exchange program to pay for the site and a new domain. :o) Now that's an idea built on principle.
As for your other comments: you have to expect a bit of a backlash don't you think. This isn't because people expect you to give up your time... it's simply because you not only said you would, you did so talking the talk. Well, any audience is bound to throw tomatoes.. pronounced "toMAYtoes".....
Also, just to put this into perspective: we are talking what, 10 minutes maybe... I mean from the time I would say go till the time the settings for the site are done. Sure to make the chart is about 2 hours and maybe another hour for the other stuff but since the odds are against you being able to do that, it would only take 10 minutes of your time.
So is it the $10 plan per year or the $20? I'm betting you didn't even bother to check when you had the chance and were reminded to. Can you surprise me?
|
|
Actually for entertainment value I'm going to pay for the hosting. Onur pretend you checked the site's traffic and let Peter know if he should get the $10 yearly plan or the $20 plan. Peter, please pay for the hosting so Onur can set it up.. then email me the amount and your mailing address so I can send you a cheque which I'll do the same day that you let me know... don't worry, my money is good - it's as green as it gets.
I'm happy to be the donor - is this by chance... hmmm.... twinkle, sparkle, wink!
|
|
Onur don't make it worse for yourself.
|
|
Did u give my computer a virus Onur?
|
|
Onur - did you talk to Peter? Did you let him know I'm going to sponsor his website...? Get him to sign up for the hosting and have him email me so I can send him a cheque.
And to sport that I'm a good sport, if you have any trouble setting things up, just email me and I'll secretly give you a hand.... Don't worry, I won't tell anyone that I'm helping you, it will be our secret.....
|
|
Yup, that's exactly what I did, I gave you a virus. And a webpage takes 15 minutes to code from scratch. And the internet actually is powered by hamsters, so whenever people experience connectivity issues that's really because a hamster died and they had to find a new one. It's all true.
Skye, if by backlash from an "audience" you mean Dave, the person who most people dislike and don't get along with because he flips out at the slightest thing and treats everyone like shit, and is also a friend of your own, then sure, I guess I would have expected that sort of response. Or maybe you're referring to your 2nd account you created to support yourself? I'm so very hurt.
Anyways, if you're going to do the hosting then you already have the site backup, and Shane has the most recent copy of the database on his server since people have been entering data there. As he mentioned above just ask him to email you the latest mdb, I don't have access to his server. And I don't know what you're talking about this $10 or $20 plan, you could get the Economy Plan which is a simple $4 plan from GoDaddy if you really wanted and that would be more than sufficient. The Economy Plan would more than cover the bandwidth usage, I don't see us doing much more than 1 gig of bandwidth a month if even that, let alone 300 gigs.

Good luck.

Hey Onur, I just wanted to know what was happening with the site. Should I post ur entire coversations from day 1 regarding the site and how u will take care of it and leading to how u quit?
My computer guys will determine where i recieved my virus, they did it for me 3 years ago, We'll see if hampsters on your website did what they did. Its funny because i don't surf the net on that computer much. Its my "clean computer." I hope you did't give me that virus Onur.
And your comment about me...Thanks a lot Onur.
If u paid my rent or put food on my table I would actually be quite hurt.
See u at Soho.

Onur, enough already with your outright lies. For example, we talked about the bandwidth plans at Soho as well as it was written in another thread and you responded to the message. You know, I don't think I've ever met anyone that talk, talk, talks so much... talk = lies...
Also, what's with your ability to read. I'm starting to get concerned. - I clearly wrote multiple times that the plans I mentioned were $10 or $20 PER FULL YEAR. Here you provide a link for a plan that is $4 per month..... and I thought I was dumb... Go back up and reread REPLY # 5... read it a couple times because it's quite enjoyable.
I offered to sponsor the website under the condition that, you look after the site because you said you would, and Peter contacts me so I can send him a cheque... think a bit why my offer is written in such a way... think: entertainment value on two fronts...
Also, keep in mind that I seldom, seldom play foosball and I am moving out of Vancouver at the end of this month (they are tearing down the house I'm in so I'm leaving sooner than I thought) and doubt I'll come down to Soho before I leave. Read Reply # 5 as I really sum things up good there. Again, reread Reply # 5...
And before I forget... sure, of course I consider Dave a friend, as I do all the guys at Soho. I even like you, and similar to Dave you have some problems to work out... Dave has to work on his competitive nature and you have to work on your talking... and if we get into me, I'll be here all night writing. As long as a person doesn't have evil intent, I usually have no problem being partial to their imperfections.

|
What's wrong with you Onur?
|
|
No, you didn't want to "just know what was happening with the site". You took your friends side believing everything he said even though he has lied, then started egging me on and attacking me as well. I can't say I blame you, I would defend my friends as well, but then I wouldn't have a friend like Skye so that's where we differ.
As for this "virus" you have, anyone who knows anything about computers is having a good laugh right now. Skye, please help your friend out and explain it. I'd love to hear how I could have given you and only you a virus when I have no way of identifying you in particular short of going to your house and logging onto your network, or asking you for specific info, or going to some other pretty extreme means for no benefit.
As for my comment, I'll give you credit that you have gotten better lately, at least with me, but there's a reason people want Tim watching the games when they play with you. You've left a bad impression with me ever since my first night of doubles, when I was partnered with you and you weren't exactly the best partner to have as you had a pretty shitty attitude. I'm not alone in that feeling either, recently one of the nights where it was bring-your-own-partner and you were late, a bunch of people were arguing over who would be partnered with you because nobody wanted to. I suppose we all have our own issues, though.
Ah well...

As entertaining as this is, I've got an early morning ahead so this is my last reply for the night.
Ok, so I misread, $10 or $20 per year. Feel free to provide details on what each package offers, and I'll give you my opinion on which is sufficient for our needs. I'll tell you right now though right now we would be able to get along just fine with 100 megs of storage (way over what we actually use), no more than 2 gigs of bandwidth per month (again, way over), and at least a few email addresses for Pete, so make the call based on that info. If you read one of my previous replies though, I said if someone wants to bite the bullet and do the hosting, I would send them the necessary files and they could upload it themselves. I also said I'm done playing in the tournaments as I don't need the added stress of foosball (who would have thought foosball was stressful...) in my life. I'll continue playing with the people I have been lately at other places and my office, but that's enough for me. I have had vancouverfoosball.com running on my own server in the mean time so people can get to the forums, and will leave it up until the new hosting package is setup, whoever that is.
If there's a serious adjustment in peoples attitudes in the future, or certain people stop playing, I may reconsider playing, but for now I've had enough.
Good luck with the move.

Im glad there's losers, becuase without them there wouldn't be winners.
|
|
Anyone else got anything bad to say about me?
|
|
It's not you Dave - Onur is painted in a corner and can't explain his talking.. Because of that he has resorted to a pre-school support tactic... Onur is under the thought that if he assigns you in my corner he can get support from the people that don't like your competitive nature.
Sorry Dave - Onur's anger isn't against you but instead at himself for being a talker. Onur's actually not mad at me either and he would love to be everyone's friend. But because he's still in pre-school and doubts such an acceptance will happen, he came down to this level.
To be fair, this is actually my fault, I should have stopped bitch slapping the weak minded Onur soon after he couldn't back up the talk. And just to be clear - my problem with Onur isn't whether he has the ability or not as anyone can make a website... it was his pride wall and relentless lies that events didn't happen that pissed me off....
I'm no longer posting here...

I'm sure everyone has a clear understanding what is going on.
|
|
I tried reading this thread, but I literally got sick to my stomach. P.S. - the virus Onur sent out just brought down all of EA's servers as I am surfing at work.....j/k of course. Let's lighten the mood around here, this thread is a killer.
