Topic: Points System and Mozilla
|
|
Does the points system work from the Mozilla Firefox browser? I get the following message, wonderfully reminiscent of my days in the software industry:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005' [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified /playerstats.asp, line 18
|
|
I just tried viewing the stats on Mozilla and worked fine- is the above error when inputting a tournament or new player? Although I am using a mac version of firefox:
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9.0.4) Gecko/2008102920 Firefox/3.0.4
|
|
It is just when I click on the Player Statistics link from Van Foos home page. I'm using:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008120122 Firefox/3.0.5
And I still get the same heartwarming ODBC error. Once again, software renews my faith in my species.

Tim, that's a driver problem. Glad I could help.

But truth is, I always get that error when I use Safari, but not Firefox (on the Mac). Here it is, pasted verbatim:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified. Safari detected. I anti-heart Mac users, and I hate Windows Users who don't use IE. Digitally signed, Steve Balmer
/playerstats.asp, line 18

hmm, you guys sure you use www.vancouverfoosball.net instead of ol' www.vancouverfoosball.com to browse the stats?? That's the error message you get when using .com ie or ff shouldn't make a difference. At least from my house.
cheers.

yep, that's it... the .net version works fine for me, thanks

I hate to say I told you so. Fortunately, in this case, the error was mine. The .net ending works fine. I was using .com. Software sucks, in general.
