It's just too expensive to fly to any other tournament other than the West Coast ones (for me, anyway). I think I am done travelling unless the prices come down or more tournies come out West. 600 for flights, 400 for entry fees, 200-300 for hotel (if your sharing a room), 200 for food - your looking at 1500 to start for a tournament out east where your forced to stay at the hotel cause its in the middle of nowhere.

the price of my world championship trophy? Priceless!
Still polishing it twice a day. My vision is failing fast...

Pretty much can't fly anywhere east without driving to Sea and flyin domestic if ya don't wanna pay an arm and leg. It's really not that much more time when you consider how long they want ya to be checked in for an International flight.
If ya get a couple people to book flights together, it's well worth flyin outta Seattle. Let me know if ya do, I know a really good place for park and fly.
Plus, at this point, you don't need a passport to drive across the border. All you need is photo ID (and barely that..did it without photo ID just recently, but ya...I'm a girl :p) and photo ID for domestic travel.
Just thought I'd throw that all out there.
*hugs*

This year the passport requirement goes into effect for going across. I think its anywhere between June and September. Flying out of Bellingham isn't too too too bad, but man, Seattle is rough. Also, it's only 1.5 hours ahead of time for US travel, so not to bad when comparing to the driving time (1 hour to border for me) wait time (1 hour), drive to Bellie (15 mins) or Seattle (3 hours), plus be there 1 hour before the flight leaves for domestic.
Argh. Hate this shit. Bring back Vegas and Colorado!
