Hey guys, I think everyone will be excited about this, at least I know I am and I hope that everyone else is too. We will be running a Singles League over the summer. People have to register by May 12th to play, the cost is 20 per player for the summer long league. The format will be best of 5 in singles, everyone that is in the league will play everyone else in the league on there own time, or you can do singles matches on tuesdays if you want before or after the weekly tournaments. Chad and I are adding $200 into the pot, and all of the registration money will be payed out. Assuming we have at least 15 people, this is how the payouts will go: 1st Overall in league standings - 200 2nd - 100 3rd - 50 There will also be prizes payed out to players in this group - whoever finishes highest out of these players gets 100, whoever finishes 2nd in this group gets 50. Johnston, Mike Campbell, Lance Wilkins, Ben Rupertus, Lindsey Moir, Zak Other players may be added into this group. Rick K, if you think you will be around EDM enough over the summer then you can play in this group. This group is for players that are not ranked above me in the points, but are clearly better than the beginner ranked players. I made myself the cutoff just to be fair, i think it wouldn't be cool to out myself in a group and then potentially win it. Also in the next group we will pay out 100 to the highest placer, and 50 to the second highest placer. Smithson, Justin Humberstone, Paul Myszczyszyn, Tobin Volkman, Dallyn Spencer, Chad Wilkins, Sam Jamerson, Rick and every other beginner player, I guesstemated the people that would be interested in playing this format over the summer and then devided them into groups. If we get at least 10 people signed up then the league is a go. we might change the grouping around depending on the amount registered. Ok go ahead and ask questions now. Sorry if the answer is obvious, but we are all still playing everyone, right? Those groups are just for extra prizes for the lower ranked players. Just wondering because I would like to be able to play everyone! |

I believe if I read it correct(it was a little confusing) that everyone plays everyone in their group-with higher and lower mixed together- then if u r the highest in the groupings -mike-lance-ben-lindsey-zak- and the other grouping then u get the money. Correct?? Make it clearer(maybe) |

Thats correct Garry. I guess I could have worded it better. If 15 people sign up that gives everyone 14 games to play by august 31. I think that should be easy to accomplish, especially considering that you can play several of your games on one night if we get 5 or 6 people to all show up. Hopefully some other people are interested in coming out to compete for these prizes. Right now Christian, Garry, Simon, Roger, Shane, and I are the only people excluded from playing for additional prizes. If more players that haven't been coming out weekly decide to sign up we might have to move them into the pro group also. If there is more pro's and less people in the other groups, we will change the way the prize pool is allocated. In the first post I listed 650 in prize money, that is quite a bit if we don't have enough registration to help cover most of it, and those are certainly subject to change if nobody really signs up, I think it is realistic though. |
