btw

good luck finding the vs network in Canada.

Hopefully someone posts it on youtube after airing.

Author: dfnder Reply #2 Posted: May 7 2009 4:22PM

Is that airing tonight for the first part?

Author: Red Pepper Reply #3 Posted: May 7 2009 4:26PM

Both in June. Plus you need to have the vs. network, which seems to be only available to those with Dishs in the states. I missed my interview, so I am not betting on very much face time for myself.

Author: dfnder Reply #4 Posted: May 7 2009 5:49PM

I have a friend that has a dish so I'll check and see if he gets VS

Author: The Next One. Reply #5 Posted: May 7 2009 6:49PM

I hope they stream it, jutin.tv

Author: Nelson Reply #6 Posted: Jun 3 2009 8:26PM

I recorded it today. Unfortunately I set my box to the SD channel instead of the HD feed. So I will try to record the HD recording on Friday. I will post the SD version as a torrent later tonight after converting it to a suitable format.

How did you get Versus?

Author: Nelson Reply #8 Posted: Jun 3 2009 8:30PM

I have my ways. Ask me next time you see me at Soho

Author: Will Reply #9 Posted: Jun 3 2009 10:07PM

Cant wait to download this - Thanks for recording it.

Author: .Garry Reply #10 Posted: Jun 3 2009 10:29PM

Where can I find it?

Author: Nelson Reply #11 Posted: Jun 4 2009 1:18AM

Just use your favourite bittorent client to download it. Please try to seed as long as possible so people can download quickly. My upload is capped at 100 kb/sec so at first it may be a bit slower but with more people it will be really fast.

Author: .Garry Reply #12 Posted: Jun 4 2009 11:03AM

Nelson- thanks very much for taking the time to record and upload this for us all!

Author: Red Pepper Reply #13 Posted: Jun 5 2009 12:26AM

Well there were some shots of my hands, my shoulder and me being scored on by tony, lol. I guess I can't complain too much, as popowich got the spredeman game ball stuff segment with added replay...ouch!

May have to get the full hour long version.

Author: Nelson Reply #14 Posted: Jun 5 2009 12:45AM

Yea it was pretty disappointing how you got barely any TV time. But at least you kinda got some!

Author: .Garry Reply #15 Posted: Jun 5 2009 8:04AM

I guess you're not "Too Hot" or "Too Sexy"- they got lots of air time.

Author: Red Pepper Reply #16 Posted: Jun 5 2009 12:03PM

Mario and Kane didn't get much either (from what I remember), just the interview. Dube got tons of air time, and it was/is justified as he is the most interesting character. Fern and Lou got lots as well, but they were all involved since pre-pro, doing soundbites and interviews earlier than anyone else.

Author: Viper Reply #17 Posted: Jun 5 2009 7:48PM

Well, they were just looking for something different, something that could create a story.

I think it is not gonna fly but hope im wrong, was pretty dull to watch, they televised the way they televise golf, only showing key plays. Well have to see what the second episode is like.

Author: Nelson Reply #18 Posted: Jun 6 2009 2:19PM

HD version here. I wasn't able to convert it to MPEG format so I had to leave it in ts format. If you have problems viewing it, use k-lite codec pack with media player classic.

Nelson knows his sh*t

Author: foosghost Reply #20 Posted: Jun 7 2009 2:04PM

anyone else download the HD version yet? I got it, pulled down the k-lite stuff, and it hickups while it plays.

During the hickup, it just stalls, and it appears that the player is stilling 'playing' - if i wait it usually eventually works.

Is this delay in the source recording? or do you think its my player/setup?

ps, thanks Nelson for doing this.

If you go to the following link you can download the newest version of VLC which can play anything.

http://www.videolan.org/

It's a free and small media player not bulking with all the other crap Windows media play has. It should play almost anything.

Cheers,

Author: Tongue180 Reply #22 Posted: Jun 7 2009 10:15PM

VLC used to be the best media player but they've lagged recently. They can play anything but due to the lack of hardware decoding they struggle with hd content on slower boxes.

Author: Nelson Reply #23 Posted: Jun 8 2009 1:23AM

I use Media Player Classic, not to be confused with Windows Media Player, which is crap. HD content usually requires quite a powerful CPU so if your computer can't handle it, it will most likely skip. It plays fine on my computer but I usually keep my computer up to date with one generation behind the newest hardware (it does the job and is a good bang for the buck).

Keeping this in mind, I will record the SD version again on Wednesday so everyone can enjoy the last episode and record the HD version on Friday.

Anyone watch this yet? was it good?

Author: discosucks Reply #25 Posted: Jun 8 2009 7:34PM

the eurosport 2 coverage of the world cup was much better. content wise. but this is us tv where in the end you don't know what really happened.
and jeff and jeff did much better than the video suggests.

Author: ButHeDoesntLookAsian Reply #26 Posted: Jun 9 2009 12:52PM

Hmmmmmmmnnnn...

Eurosport foosball coverage is in-depth whereas Versus coverage is too condensed. I guess that is because in-depth foosball coverage wouldn't "sell" in North America.

Confucius quote:
"The superior man understands what is right; the inferior man understands what will sell."

I am guessing that Confucius wouldn't eat at McDonalds?

PS Jeff, Eric and Darren, it was really cool watching you guys play on my Big Screen TV. Now I am really motivated to try to get better so I can upset you guys more often in the future (just kidding). Good job guys!

Alright, Nelson, last time it took you over 5 hours to get that torrent up (from the time it was aired, to torrent link posted).

lets see if you can beat your time this time.

betcha can't!! B-)

Author: Nelson Reply #28 Posted: Jun 10 2009 8:08PM

Unfortunately my box didn't record for whatever reason. Possibly because someone at home turned it off. Anyways, I will correct that and record the re-run of it tomorrow in SD (not everyone is able to watch it in HD). So it's going to be at least another day.

Author: foosghost Reply #29 Posted: Jun 11 2009 12:05AM

doh! you're our hero Nelson. whatever you can do is great, and we're all very grateful.

Thanks again, and i'll be watching for you post tomorrow. B-)

Author: Nelson Reply #30 Posted: Jun 11 2009 8:10PM

As advertised:

http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4948627

In SD format.

Author: foosghost Reply #31 Posted: Jun 12 2009 12:46AM

downloaded it, and it appears corrupt after the first 15 minutes or so. file size was a lot smaller than first episode as well.

oh well, happy to have seen most of it. just have to wait for DVDs now.

Author: Red Pepper Reply #32 Posted: Jun 12 2009 12:08PM

I couldn't even download this one. It was running at less then 1kb and was expected to finish in 5 days...

I'll retry on the weekend, or some other time, but after the other one, I could almost care less.

Author: .Garry Reply #33 Posted: Jun 13 2009 6:27PM

Thanks Nelson

It downloaded for me-took 4 hrs- and I don't know if it's my computer or not, but there was alot of jittery/pixelization stuff happening on playback with missed info.

Oh well- better than not seeing anything.

thanks again.
