Topic: New foosball table

So I've been playing foosball for about 6 weeks now I think and that was the first time I've ever seen a snake shot, that very first Tuesday I came out and was paired up with Garry....man this game is addicting. Thanks everybody for being so nice and teaching me stuff. Even though I've lost every single week, I still have fun because you guys are a good bunch to hang out with. I wanted to up my game a bit so I went looking for a foosball table - so now I found myself a cheap foosball table! Actually 2, ask me later.

This was a steal (at least I think so), I just so happened to be browsing kijiji when I came accross this table. Dynamo Striker Coin-op Table. The lady didn't know anything about foosball at all and she said that some family friend used to put these tables in bars etc, and she's had this one in her basement for years. She wanted $250 I offered $200 and it was mine. I've never played on one of these before since I'm so new to foosball, but it seems a lot grippy-er and not as much "action" in the tic tac as tornados. My wife doesn't know that I got it as it's at my place of work - for now I am referring to it as a "friends" table .

It is in mint condition except for one cracked man on the 2 -bar. I looked on foosball.com but it seems that these men are unavailable now. Anybody know where I can find a man?

And here is the cracked man:

I think those are the tables that Johnny Lott made. He posts on

http://www.foosballboard.net/phpBB/

Maybe post on there- it's primarily a us site- but someone(maybe johnny) will be able to help u. I am on there every other day- it's a great site and rules discussion site as well.

BTW Des

It's nice to have players come out like you(there are lots of them) that are willing to learn. The only way you are going to learn is by coming out, taking a beating, and practicing what you saw or picked up.

My suggestion is now that you have a table- spend 60% of the time practicing your 5 bar- ball control/passing series- 20% 3 bar-20% 2 bar. The only way to win consistently is by getting the ball( I'm a prime example of this- my 3 bar might not be the highest %- but I rarely lose the 5 bar war)

If you come out tomorrow- I will give you some drills- or Tuesday-whichever works for you,

Thanks Garry,

I actually don't mind taking a beating because I am a person that always likes a challenge, so if I'm playing someone better, then I'm always being challenged.

Drills would be awesome. I am having troubles learning the brush pass, but I'll keep at it. Chances are tomorrow is a no-go for me. Probably Tuesday though. Looking forward to it.

I just posted on foosballboard.net to see if anyone can track me down a man. Hopefully I can find one, and maybe a couple of spares. Thanks again.
