I'm new to this forum and would like to know how i can challenge the champion or anyone else who feels they are high level players. How about next weekend if possible, on a 11 aside table any where in Vancouver.

Holla Back if you hear me!

Not my kind of fun, (not to mention I live in Squamish) but I'm sure you will find at least a good handful of players to give yer ass a lil waxing about a million different ways.

I'm mostly just playing with ya...mostly!!

All I can say is...google.com my friend, google.com

Author: ButHeDoesntLookAsian Reply #6 Posted: Oct 20 2009 5:56AM

11 a side table? Hmmmnnn...

I guess that would be at TOYS R US?

Or he can come here to Shanghai and try one of our Fireball tables.

Author: The Devil Reply #7 Posted: Oct 20 2009 11:04AM

No, I can't take credit for this post. But you can play me for beers anytime at soho. If you want, I'll even play with the one of the rods turned upside down. You're choice.

Author: Aged Whine & Cheese Reply #8 Posted: Oct 20 2009 1:21PM

A quick trip to Soho at 1283 Hamilton Street on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday evening should find enough players there who will be all to glad to provide some foosin' lessons. This isn't trash talking - just reality.

Of course, these are "13 players per side" tables because there are no "11 aside" tables of tournament quality in the city.

Author: Will Reply #9 Posted: Oct 20 2009 4:35PM

Eric - if someone is willing to start adding player names into fast we can also get an additional singles spot at the world championships. We would need to have 500, we have around 400 right now. Deadline for that is nov.15.

Author: Will Reply #10 Posted: Oct 20 2009 4:36PM

Oops that was supposed to be on the other thread.

Author: Aged Whine & Cheese Reply #11 Posted: Oct 20 2009 6:49PM

That's OK Will, the conversation on this thread was pretty screwed up anyway.
Tim

Author: ButHeDoesntLookAsian Reply #12 Posted: Oct 20 2009 7:43PM

Jeff, if you play the guy for beers just give your car keys to someone else.

Since this thread is deteriorating fast I may as well give you an update.

We just moved back to Shanghai again last week. I bought a knockoff iPhone for a hoot. All the stuff the merchant showed me works fine. All the other stuff he said it would do as well - it doesn't. Ha ha.

I saw Scottie Pippen the other night. I think he does NBA goodwill promo tours here. NBA on TV is very popular here especially Houston and NJ games. Maybe sliQ wants to challenge Scottie to a little one on one basketball for beers too? I think Scottie isn't driving...

Just a thought.

I am going to a smaller city in China next week (only 3 million people - ha ha), meeting with 50 or 60 school kids who all play foosball. Looking forward to that. Then off to Qingdao where they make the best Chinese beer and the best Chinese foosball tables. That is a nice combination - kind of like Tim and a fashion consultant, John and a new hair stylist, me and a fitness consultant. Oh shit, forget that last one.

Their fireball table just got ITSF recognized status or something like that. Collignon re-designed their man but I brought six sets of new Tornado men with me. I am bringing along a new Tornado table as well. The new Fireball table also has QPQ rods and improved handles. A pretty good table now.

One bar has a weekly foosball competition with no entry fee, reduced drink prices and US$50 F&B coupon first prize. I have a feeling there is some catch similar to my iPhone. Ha ha.

Our new apartment is great and has lots of room for guests. 4,500 square feet, a maid, a car and driver and a great view and location. Is there such a thing as a pro-master status for gloating? OK, the water smells, the driver are brutal, the network TV sucks and Youtube and Facebook are blocked. But isn't that the same in the Fraser Valley Jeff?

My previous foosball business partner here is about to go to jail for something else. I can really pick em!

So the wild, wild far east is just as I remembered it. Come out and visit us!

Fred

PS We are just having a little fun sliQ. Have fun with the chellenge matches.

Author: SliQ Reply #13 Posted: Oct 21 2009 12:50AM

I'm cool like that.I was just looking for someone who can take a challenge and i only challenge the best. Are you guys any good at all!!!!

Keep practicing guys.I hope to play each one of you in this forum soon.
I'm out!

Author: ButHeDoesntLookAsian Reply #14 Posted: Oct 21 2009 2:03AM

SliQ,

I would play these guys for some money if I were you. They are not really all that good. All talk. Especially that girl player. She can barely see over the table.

Make sure to play the Koreans and the Vietnamese guy. They hate to be challenged for money. It turns them in to pussies. And that Jeff guy - easy beer money from that guy. Play Tim for the shirt off his back - please! And Johnny the Cider guy, he is easy pickings especially at goalie wars. Moya is not half bad for a girl. Though you should give her a goal a game since she is so small. And Mitch hardly plays anymore. 5 bar war would be good for him. Robert for Forward shootout - a license to print money!

(pssst, 50% of the winnings. ok everyone?)

OK my work here is done. Off to make more friends wherever I go...

Fred

PS I already took back my knockoff iPhone. Surprise surprise, they gave me my money back. So I bought a Nintendo DS for my nephew. Hundreds of games already to go on 20 DVDs for an extra $30. I love this freakin' place...

Author: The Devil Reply #15 Posted: Oct 21 2009 11:12AM

Damnit. I want to live like a king China!

Fred, if you see a knock off patek phillipe pick it up for me. The one with the moon phase and the two other inner calendars....

Author: The Devil Reply #16 Posted: Oct 21 2009 11:21AM

And Fred, I only live a block away from Soho, so I can [easily] stumble home from all the free drinks. That's the idea.

Author: Superfly Reply #17 Posted: Oct 21 2009 12:53PM

I like the Gold one

***$57,200*******$43,800*******$55,300******$325,000***

Author: The Devil Reply #18 Posted: Oct 21 2009 1:58PM

I don't like any of those, but the first two are allright.

Author: ButHeDoesntLookAsian Reply #19 Posted: Oct 21 2009 4:26PM

I have 30 watches, 20 NFL jerseys and 4 NHL jerseys. I also have about 100 pieces of software. One of them a Luongo Blue jersey which is good because he shouldn't be wearing his so far this year. I want to buy some MLB jerseys too as well.
All $US
NHL $25, NHL $35, MLB ???, Software $3 per disk and only a few had viruses.

I also have 150 Wii games at $1.50 each but most of them suck. Play great but come on - bass fishing? The best ones I had to buy in the U.S. because I couldn't wait, e.g. Guitar Hero and Rock Band. I do wear my knockoff shades while playing though! The wii player you buy here only comes with a knockoff capable chip inside but downside is the interface is in Japanese. Also have a PSP with a couple of hundred games but I never use it. It was supposed to be for my nephew but he cried he wanted a Nintendo DS. I bought him a used Tornado a few years ago. Ungrateful midget!

I have a Patek Phillipe like the last one pictured but black on white. They have A B C or D quality.

A: $10-$15 shoddy, sometimes with misspellings e.g. "Breitlig", sometimes last only a few months
B: $30-$40 well made but only decent materials. Fairly easy to spot but still a nice watch
C: $60-$100 usually Swiss movements inside. Better quality materials. Tough to spot as fakes.
D: $200-$400. Titanium, great straps, virtually indistinguishable. Side by side you can tell but tough to tell on their own.

Sorry Johnny but the gold ones are the toughest to fake. Can't quite get the colour right. Black and Stainless are the best fakes. I even have a little jewellers case for my collection. Everyone who sees it laughs at me but is totally jealous once I open it up.

No, I won't buy a watch for everyone, but a few guys sure. Will be there in February for the Olympics. You can pay me back then.

I also have a Chinese made tube amp. Not a knockoff but I am sure they have copied the technology. It is too cool to look at and it weighs at least 30 pounds. Sounds sweet but not super loud.

Our maid is $15 per 8 hour day. Our car and driver is free. The vehicle of choice are GM minivans and are seen as like limos here. Ours has a DVD player in it. German sedans are also popular. Taxis are little VW Fox type pieces of shite. Meter is $2 to start and moves slowly. I love it.

I have an assistant at $20 per day who is helping me start some businesses (Import Export, Consulting, etc.). Massages are $6 per hour for clinical surroundings and $12 per hour for really nice ambiance. Sorry Moya but hair stylings are only $7 for really good and basic haircut is $3.00.

A decent street meal is $2. Western food is more expensive than at home. Peanut butter $8, Doritos $7, etc.

The tap water stinks. Air pollution is bad. Drivers are like that Crazy Taxi game. Hookers are who knows how much. That is my story and I'm sticking to it.

The nightclubs are world class as are the 5* restaurants but both pricey. I prefer the pub and foosball type places.

The lineup for our free guest room starts here.

Fred

I think a dream vacation is being Fred for two weeks.

Fred, if you can swing it, I may be interested in getting some more higher quality replicas.

Let me know and I'll let you know (does that make sense?)

Soooooooo jealous.............

Author: Aged Whine & Cheese Reply #22 Posted: Oct 22 2009 12:29AM

Fredrock!!!
I want one of the ones with the misspellings. Something like a Bolex or a Patke Philip. I looked when I was in Shanghai and couldn't find any spelling errors other than one belt buckle that said Doice and Gabbana

Author: van_can_foos Reply #23 Posted: Oct 22 2009 3:12AM

Tim,

I believe you are proceeding under a misguided philatelic assumtion.

Wouldn't it be great if you could claim that (like stamps) a mis-spelling or other egregious error INCREASES the value of the item. "This watch - usually priced at $325,000 - has an increased value (due to this rare production error) of...a Kabillion dollars."

Coulda made a mint with that belt buckle.

Author: ButHeDoesntLookAsian Reply #24 Posted: Oct 22 2009 5:50AM

I like Air Canada with a months notice. Or if you are really serious let me know and I think I can book out of China for an even better price. China price but still Canadian Airline.

Bad Engrish is always fun.
http://www.oddee.com/item_89219.aspx

I have seen way better ones than these but didn't take photos.

I had a girl at my wife's work come up and introduce herself last year - "Hello, I am Kitty Poo". I tried to turn my laugh into a cough but don't think I pulled it off. I think that I need a one liner reply if I ever meet her again.

Author: ButHeDoesntLookAsian Reply #25 Posted: Oct 22 2009 5:54AM

Jeff,

I have a lead on a guy who only sells high end watches.

The fun thing about the best knockoffs is that they really are illegal here. You need to give them the high sign, wait until others leave and then the fake wall is pulled away and voila! We wet into a hidden room last year full of high end fake purses with Japanese and American women in it just salavating!

Oh Jeff, if you really want to be me for two weeks just remember that my 5 bar comes with the package so you might want to rethink that...

Fred

Author: The Devil Reply #26 Posted: Oct 22 2009 11:21AM

I saw a souvenir T-Shirt in Shanghai (down by the Royal Gardens or Buddhist Gardens or something Gardens) that had a picture of the Great Wall on it and the slogan "I go to China". I still regret not buying it.

Author: The Devil Reply #30 Posted: Oct 23 2009 11:26AM

You can make up for it by buying the "Zerba" pattern costume(or whatever the hell it was) on Davie.

Fred, if you could get me a Women's small knock-off Starbucks T-shirt -- much appreciated. My daughter got one near the Tiananmen Sq. Starbucks (not *in*, because it's a knock-off, and we want a genuine knock-off, not an imitation knock-off like you might actually get in the store). Oh, it's for my wife, that's my story. Also a knock-off Rolex for me please. Will pay cost, and will kick in $30 for the pot that night, which you would likely win.

Author: Superfly Reply #32 Posted: Oct 24 2009 9:28PM

I'm sure Fred will take 5% of the winnings as long as he doesn't have to cover 5% of the losses, which I suspect will be substantial before any of the winnings materialize.

SliQ. Rather than trying to talk a good game, try to come out and play some people. You a) might meet some decent folks, b) might have a good time, c) might realize that there is a lot to learn about how to play foosball and d) learn a lot about how to play foosball.

Until then, I will return to dreaming about Cubic Zirconium encrusted Bolex watches.

SLiQ,

I would save your money if I were you. When it turns out you get pummelled you might want to use them for some foosball training DVDs.

You should just go an a Friday or Sunday when others are there for sure. No one wants to make a special trip to play a beginner. I am meaning a tournament beginner. Like it or not that is what all bar players are until they have played tournament players and learned from an experienced player how to plug some of the holes in their game, how to read defenses, etc.

Hope that you have fun but talk is cheap so you and anyone else looking to play experienced players should save the talking until after the games are over. Then if it turns out you do well I will be the first to take it all back.

So just play and have fun. Calling out the best player and getting waxed 5-0 5-0 is not fun for anyone.

Then with all the money you have saved you can come to Shanghai and buy some nice knockoff watches.

Regards,

Fred
PS Richard Tench asking for not one but two knockoff items? Who-da thunk it? All sizes are two off to fit the Chinese so will adjust to North American sizes even though I know your wife is Asian and quite petite.

Author: dfnder Reply #39 Posted: Oct 27 2009 11:13AM

Tournament foosball players are bored until their next foosball fix, so they tend to get carried away with threads like this. When it comes down to it though, they welcome any new player who is willing to learn because there are not many of us. It is always great to get new players involved.

Unless you have played tournament calibre players before there will be a steep learning curve for you. You will improve quickly, after a few outings it will become most apparent when you go back to play with your regular buddies.

The hard part is, being that you have a competitive nature, you may get bored playing just regular players.

The group of players at soho have played for many years, some of them have known each other for 25yrs (yikes). This means we are comfortable ribbing each other or dissing each other at times which can make some newcomers uncomfortable. Everybody started at your level and all know it. All would appreciate another player willing to learn - so we can challenge ourselves. Foosball is difficult to master and it takes a lot of work, some don't have the time or inclination. Hopefully you do!

cheers, Peter

ps. We are working on curbing the "In your Face" attitude in Vancouver to improve the enviroment for new players.

What was that about Robbie grabbing his handle too much before he shoots? That will make your rod stiffen up.

how much what?

Author: ButHeDoesntLookAsian Reply #53 Posted: Oct 30 2009 4:59PM

How much grabbing the handle is too much?

Well, if way too much will make you go blind, that would defintely be too much. How about if Robbie stops when he needs glasses?

Or, he could be like Collignon and put a condom on the handle. His eyes seem fine!

Maybe this is why Tuan's eyes have been so bad lately? Girlfriend out of town again?

Come to think of it, I have needed glasses the past few years when playing foosball and I always use a wrap. Hmmmnnn...

Time for John or Tim to say something witty?

--------
As an aside, I am off to Yiwu next week. It is the small commodity capital of China. You need it? they got it. Each building has about 2,000 wholesale buying outlets. The last time after 2 days I only got through buildings A, B, and C. They had up to building H!

I hear this year they have lots more buildings. Last time, I bought some poker chips in a cool silver case for 1/5 of what it was in Canada. A remote helicopter for the same sort of deal. This time I am looking to export some things for a client and maybe try to pickup a telescope for our balcony.

No, I will not try to buy something for you here They don't like to sell one at a time. Now if you wanted 100,000 of some item we can talk...

You have to talk to 5 or 10 stalls before someone will sell you one of something.

The main buyers here are from other third world countries. A number of the streets have these really great Muslim BBQ meat restaurants.

Some photos of Yiwu here...

Author: ButHeDoesntLookAsian Reply #56 Posted: Oct 31 2009 9:13PM

So if there are events Fridays and Sundays and Jeff is there most Wednesdays, why does Sliq need a special invitation to go? Interesting. Something doesn't smell right here.

So exactly who and where have you played? Are they ranked tournament players? If you have played anyone good and they are North American then why are you hung up on an 11 man table? Which tables have you played on and why don't you like Tornado tables?

If you are a bar player with big cajones then go to a Friday or a Sunday. Anyone there will play you pick up games, for money if you want, or you can enter the event. Or instead, if you are really someone who has some serious game then you can provide more details. But my money is on the first scenario.

Have you also posted this on other boards like Calgary and Saskatchewan? In that case either you travel a lot or else you are a fraud wondering why no one is buying your B.S. I think it wil be interesting to see exactly which is true. Why don't you post a cell phone number for someone to call you at to set up a game?

I used to live in Vancouver but live in Shanghai so can't make it there. Defender lives in Squamish and doesn't make it out much. but there are lots of chances to go to Soho 2 maybe 3 nights a week and lots of guys there will play you for money.

The best player there which is probably Tuan these days isn't buying your talk or he would have responded by now. So show up and show soime skills and maybe you will get his attention.

Now if you guaranteed $10 a game 5 game minimum then you would probably get some takers.

But like we are not so subtly hinting, we think you should just show up with a little less swagger and play some games and take it from there. The best players don't show up to beat up on bar players unless there is a little more in it for them. Lessons aren't free.

But be wardned, this game makes you humble in a hurry.

Just trying to save you a little emberassment and make it more fun for you.

Wishing you well and enjoying the trash talking my my money is that either you don't exist or else you don't have the game you think you do.

Author: dfnder Reply #57 Posted: Oct 31 2009 11:23PM

Well it is not surprising that you haven't lost a game. Back in the day when I first started playing my buddy ken and I would travel around to the differant arcades etc where there were foosball tables and I can say we never lost. We would lose occasionally at our home arcade but never when we traveled around... until we found where the tournament players were.

I can remember the first time I played a good goalie, all my banks, fakes, reverses were stoned. After 3 games I finally scored a goal, it was only because he was so bored.

I'm sure you are good in the realm of competition you have met - but to become truely good you must play a higher level of player. Maybe you have and you are not letting on but the calibre of play from some at Soho is equaled by fewer than 20 people across Canada.

I have taken money off of more than one person who said they were the BC Champ or Canadian Champ. I'm hoping you are as good as you say, we always need another quality player around. If the locals happen to put the beat on you, I hope that you have the Moxy to stick around, learn and then eventually beat those same players.

cheers :)

I like your story dfnder.... wow, it brings back memories for me as I lived that same reality in the local arcades (back in the mid 1980's).

My buddy and I were "King of the Castle" and then went to Vancouver for vacation (1986) and got our butts handed to us by Dfndr and Mitch Jang at a place called 86 Street". It was back in the day when you spotted goals to the lower ranked player and we only had to play to 5. So, right off the hop, my partner and I were up 2-0 to start because of the rankings. Needless to say, we lost 2 games straight, 5-2 and 5-2.

So, i know what SLIQ is thinking... i think we've all been there.

You guys are way too nice to not try and hustle the guy for all his $$. From what i can tell, SLIQ is a DJ in Vancouver and probably does alot of bar play. He'll be a great recruit for you guys to turn him into a local tournament player.

SliQ,

I grow weary of your giving out attitude while apparently lacking the cojones to back it up.

If you aren't just one of the local tournament players screwing around behind a fake online ID then I'm sure someone will play you. Heck, it might even be me; my schedule is relatively open right now and, to your benefit, I'm old, my game is rusty and I have tendonitis in my wrists. Surely someone whose game is as good as yours wouldn't be afraid of a washed up has been like me?

You name a time where you can meet at Soho or somewhere where there is a decent foosball table (flat surface, rods have been lubed, balls are round, etc.) and you bring $100 to play $20/game for a minimum of five games (you'll have to show the $100 up front because you are going to lose it all).

You do all that and someone will show up. Of course, if you state such a time and place and don't show, you will no doubt be mocked on this message board.

Note: I specify $100 because you have to make it worthwhile for someone to make a special trip out to give you a schooling in foosball. Private lessons are never cheap.

if this SliQ dude is for real, he'll show, if not ,its definitely red fisherman pepper devil ,trying to increase the membership with his multiple aliasas

Author: ButHeDoesntLookAsian Reply #61 Posted: Nov 2 2009 3:34AM

Of course sLiq could always be undercover Vice and getting Tim do be disbarred for gambling before he even gets called to the bar could be his big career bust. On second thought, it really isn't a gamble when you already know the outcome so I think you are ok Timmy.

Just so you know, my hijacking the thread to talk about China was done so that you could stop trash talking yourself to complete embarrassment but that obviously was disregarded. And Defender was indeed trying to give you an out on not looking so silly either when you get crushed. If you do decide to be a regular and learn the game properly you will see that Defender is one of the nicest guys around.

I would love to come there myself sLiq but when I said I was in Shanghai I meant the one in China so the commute could be a bit of a killer. If not for that I would definitely be there for some money games and I am not half the player some of these guys are. Been nice knowing you though. I will give you one thing though it has been entertaining.

If you only knew ahead of time how badly you are going to get crushed. I am hoping you actually show up. This one will be fun to hear about.

Jeff, you going again on Wednesday? Still offering to play for beers and turn a rod over? If he is then sliQ has two opportunities now. Dave you are strangely silent on calling this guy out. Robbie there must be a table with handles you can play on too.

Obviously Tuan is not buying it at all.

Of course sliQ could just actually even be me messing around. Who is the administrator? Maybe he can check IP addresses to see if this guy is a fraud or for real?

Author: ButHeDoesntLookAsian Reply #68 Posted: Nov 3 2009 11:29AM

Did any Christians trash talk the lions like this back in Ancient Rome? Tim, you were there weren't you?

I would so like to be there when he suddenly realizes what he is in for. He he he.

I do hope he keeps coming out though, he is pretty entertaining.

Timmy, if it isn't 5 - 0, 5 - 0, etc. you are off my Christmas card list.

No one hates you SliQ, in fact if you actually beat everyone it would be pretty cool. Of course seeing pigs fly would be pretty cool too.

Dave, I don't think there will be much meat on the bone after Tim is done feeding. You had your chance.

Looking forward to a report after.

Fred
PS Richard, I bought your Starbucks shirt. Next thing is to look at watches but not until late next week.

Author: Aged Whine & Cheese Reply #69 Posted: Nov 3 2009 12:56PM

Wednesday at 8pm works for me. I will see you there. If anyone wants a piece of the action, you can show up - I'm not desperate for all of SliQ's money.

Author: dfnder Reply #70 Posted: Nov 3 2009 2:41PM

Make sure you talk about some rules. Tim no spinning the rods, no banging the table to influence the rods, no distracting the opposition when he has the ball - your Hawaiian shirts are therefore illegal!

Sliq, there are rules posted on the vancouver.net site that we usually play by. Basic ones are, you can score from any rod. time limits on rods are 10 seconds on 5-rod, 15sec other rods. No spinning rod more than 360 degrees before or after shot (Tim may shoot a rollover which is legal as it doesn't go 360)
IN tournaments we play best 2 out of three.

I think Tim should be our designated ambassador for the Soho guys - he needs to get a new shirt :)
One game/series for $20 should be sufficient. Loser has option to play an additional game to win money back. Just my thoughts, best of luck to Sliq and whomever he plays.

Author: moyatielens Reply #71 Posted: Nov 3 2009 3:24PM

Oh man, think I might even make it out for this..

hahahahhaha

Good job, SliQ. You might have single handedly reignited our foos scene. :p Funny what a little trash talking can do.

Author: The Devil Reply #72 Posted: Nov 3 2009 4:00PM

I was trying to avoid wed foos, but maybe i'll stop in.

I have a strong feeling that this won't ever happen tho.

Author: supergifted1 Reply #73 Posted: Nov 3 2009 7:16PM

the loser has to wear one of Tim's shirts in public for a week.

Author: ButHeDoesntLookAsian Reply #74 Posted: Nov 3 2009 10:21PM

I am thinking one game. Tim crushes him. Pays him $20, backpeddles, leaves, and is never seen again.

Jeff, you are saying $0 changes hands?

Anyone else? Buehler? Anyone?

In my hear though, I would love it if he crushes Tim or anyone else who shows up (nothing personal Timbo). I have to eat my words ad Vancouver foosball is never the same again. Would love it if that happens. Of course I would also like 18 cent McD hamburgers to make a comeback, the Canucks to win a cup, and to beat the Vancouver Pro masters consistently. A guy can dream can't he?

Author: Nelson Reply #75 Posted: Nov 4 2009 1:09AM

This is actually getting pretty intriguing, I may elect to actually show up to witness this.

Here's a link for my two cents.

Jaaaaaaaaahny!!

I think Johnny should do us all the honors here folks. you showing up for this one buD?

By Nelson's postings scale I'm only a 200.

Author: The Devil Reply #79 Posted: Nov 4 2009 2:35PM

Better then being a marsupial

Author: Aged Whine & Cheese Reply #80 Posted: Nov 4 2009 4:01PM

Although Koalas are pretty popular. Everyone loves Koalas. So, having risen from the marsupial level to the meager rod spinner that I am, I may have lost the love of society and acquired the social outcast status so frequently associated with foosers. Alas, those simple days of imbibing somewhat poisonous herbs in order to sedate one's mind are gone forever.

Author: The Devil Reply #81 Posted: Nov 4 2009 5:07PM

Aww nuts. Miss those days.

Author: hardboiled Reply #82 Posted: Nov 4 2009 5:42PM

Hopefully SliQ will be kind enough to do a tour - maybe with Calgary as the next stop.

Author: Desmond Reply #83 Posted: Nov 4 2009 11:03PM

I've been following this thread closely for entertainment's sake. I said to Will this morning - "TODAY IS THE DAY!!!!" he said, "What day?" I replied "8PM, Soho's - SliQ is playing!" Man, I'm eagerly awaiting anybody to post some results. Will said, "Too bad there isn't any live streaming..."

So if anybody could post the results soon, that would be awesome :)

Author: Aged Whine & Cheese Reply #84 Posted: Nov 5 2009 12:45AM

Live streaming video was available but, as it was live, there is no recording. Sorry you missed it.

SliQ showed. He's a good chap; there was one match - I'll leave it to SliQ to say how it went. Then we all just played some doubles for funzies.

A good night all around.

SliQ: if you keep coming out, I think you've got some potential. Quick reactions, a quick learner, ...

There were also two guys out from Germany - fun to play against them too.

Hope to see everyone again.

Author: SliQ Reply #85 Posted: Nov 5 2009 3:27AM

To eveyone that wrote on this page,i got beat.Tim was great.I bet the first game $20 and he beat me 3 games to nothing. There was no point in me betting all my cash cause he would have won it all.I have a lot of practice to do to catch up with y'all. You'll definately see me there more often. The other guys were just as good as Tim was

Peace out.Till next time.

Author: The Next One. Reply #86 Posted: Nov 5 2009 5:27AM

Sliq,

Was a pleasure to meet you tonight, you're a great sport. you have skills man, and i've seen first hand you've become a better player just by playing a coupled hours with us. And you did win a game with me against Nelson and Tim, they are really top players.
Way to go man! thanks for holding down the fort and giving me the opportunity to close it out.

See you Sunday

Author: ButHeDoesntLookAsian Reply #87 Posted: Nov 5 2009 7:09AM

Let's see, 50% of Tim's winnings plus I guessed right on how much money would change hands so Jeff owes me a beer. Ladies and Gentleman the big winner this evening was 12,000 miles away.

'hank you, 'hank you very much!

Thanks for showing SliQ. You have the cajones.

Robbie, does this mean that Tim is still wearing his shirt? Then I guess all of Vancouver foosball is the big loser!

Looking like I will be there for Christmas. Triple O's, here we come!
