Topic: Foos Palace? 118 ave and 66 street

I was foosing with my little sister and her boyfriend at his uncles house on christmas eve... We were just playing on an old school costco table, but it was like 15 years old and heavy, pretty fun table actually. It played like a TS a bit.

Anyway the two older guys i was playing with said they used to foos at a place called "foos palace" or something, they werent sure. They said it was on 118 and 66 st. Is there some truth to this? It sounds awesome and i am just curious about it, do some of you guys remember it or did you only play at west edmonton mall?

Also I met another guy at beer hunter who knew Sang(spelling?) and Pat Mckenna? I don't know either of them but he said they still foos all the time... Does anyone play house games with them or anything?

Sanj was a player back in the eighties. He had some wicked back pins. I think he is now a doctor and I don't know if he plays anymore. Pat was a player from the Walmac Rosario days. I haven't seen Pat in a few years.

Foos palace ? Not sure what it was called, had a few Friends who when to school near there, but I though it was called "the cave", then ten years later "Mike's Lounge" ,been in there a few times ,but it was before my foosball days.
Still see pat now & then at Lance's, on poker night's.

I should head over to Beer Hunter's more often, might meet players that might get others out to the Gateway nights.
Sanji was a player whom played "jumpy" all the time. Hop around and move his back pin alot. Back in 1987 at Alladin's we were drawn together for the DYP in a main tournament that year (We won that event too).
I also took 2nd in Pro doubles with Kent F.

Would be good to get some other older players out, maybe Sanji would take to the Warrior easier though.

Cool - i like to hear about this stuff it really makes me wish i was around for that whole foosball boom back then. Hopefully we can make that happen again, even if it is just locally that would be pretty fun. I want to see foosball on every corner!

I wonder what they did with all the tables.

Table Soccer can certainly be big in Western Canada without alot of outside support, but to do that there should be some mid-sized tournies alternating between Calgary & Edmonton to be active on some kind of quarterly basis.

One more table put in the Gateway location to allow for expansion and quicker time finishes. (I see the lower level around the left corner might take a couple )

Rosarios viable?, some players ought to visit, eh?

not unless they get rid of the Karaoke. Besides, Rosarios have Walmac tables. We need to keep the support towards Will and company.

Crappy tables... skip that scene.

Beer Hunter retains the business.
