I feel an obligation of sorts to always respond to threads entitled Richard. Otherwise I would have been mercifully silent on this one.

Have a great return to China Fredrock. Have some Shanghai dumplings for me. We kept going back to this restaurant on a side street near that main street where people shop. There were two identical restaurants with big yellow signs sitting side by side with huge lines of people in front waiting for dumplings. Can't remember the street name but it was on the more seedy block of the same street that has the Beard Papa's Cream Puff restaurant.

That should be plenty of info to help you find it in a tiny little place like Shanghai.

"There were two identical restaurants with big yellow signs sitting side by side" Oh, you mean the portable "Golden Arches" of Shanghai ... well i guess it is appropriate for them to sell dumplings there.

Heya Fred. Sorry we couldn't connect for lunch. Looks like I should head over to the obscure dumpling place in Shanghai. Or try a dog burger at Micky D's. See you in February.

Keep your perverse sexual allusions to yourself Shinner. By Beard Papa's I meant the cream puff store, not some cream puff you met on Richards.

That's the one - Yangs Fry Dumpling
Plus, on the same street you can get roasted sticks of mystery meat. They will tell you it is lamb if you want it to be lamb.
