I'm *considering* coming down - won't know for sure until tomorrow. Anyone else?
I know there's traffic/parking chaos but I love seeing all the changes down there. If I go, I'll probably just park in Pacific Centre and walk down.
I went with the family to Robson skating rink a couple weeks ago and it was tres cool.
I also want to get a feel for just how bad it will be when Fred's in town.
BTW, I'm almost embarrassed to admit that we're attending 5 Olympic events and 1 victory celebration (got lucky in the initial lottery). But it obviously affects when I’ll be available for any Freddie get-togethers. Is anyone else is attending events? Fred, do you know which events you'll be attending yet?

I wish I was attending some events. I am trying to get some speed skating tickets (or anything that is not in whistler).
My friend came out from Pitt Meadows on Sunday and said it took him an extra 10 minutes to get to my place. I don't think its that much of a problem.
Lots of visitors already here, I see more and more each day, but no real increase in vehicle traffic.

I'll be down Friday. It doesn't look like there will be too much trouble parking ... in fact there seems to be more parking spots than usual because of the increased paying time of 10 p.m. Various road closures are begining to be a problem already though.

Remember, the Georgia and Dunsmuir Viaducts will be closed. So the Cambie street bridge will be packed, i think i will go over the Granville bridge tonight. The lead up to the Cambie bridge ... via 4th ave will probably also be jammed so i'll just go along 25th to Granville then over the bridge.
I still believe that parking shouldn't be a problem ... but we will see.

Another possible route would be Powell street. Then go through gas town and down Richards st to my place and soho.

I'm thinking of going but I will probably just ride the bus and that new ALRT line.
Gotta leave early though.

So how was the parking down there on Friday?

It was MUCH easier than usual. No traffic on the way in either. Vanoc has all the locals too scared to visit downtown.
As such, I'm coming down tonight with the family to take in the sights.
