Darcy good showing to take 2nd in the D.Y.P

Will & Tim beat you on the A side, then ended up playing you & Darrel 2nd time around on the B-side, your team going on that time. How did those matches work out?

Author: Will Reply #7 Posted: Jun 21 2010 10:09PM

I passed very well in the first game and scored a pretty high percentage. Also Tim opened up the second game with two goals from his 2 bar. It kind of took the pressure off me.

I the second match Darcy blocked virtually every possesion I had... Also I didn't pass as well. Darrel and Darcy both played really well.

Actually I don't remember much, to be honest. I can only pick out thinking that my blocking the second time around was much better, but will still kept scoring.

Maybe Will remembers better than I do.

Way to make me look bad will.

OK.. Then Darcy what happened in the Final match vs Tony T. and Vern V. ...you play well or Tony out play Darrel ?

Author: Darcy Reply #11 Posted: Jun 21 2010 10:32PM

Actually I think I blocked tony 80-90% the first game and decently the second game but tony started to figure me out. Second game went 5-4 for them. The third game i think i might have blocked 3-4 of their 3 bar possessions total and Darrel wasn't able to save me haha..

Either way, Tony and Vern adapted well, and Darrel played consistent all night, it was definitely a good learning experience for me.

highlight of my night was when I was playing a match I overheard Tony tell Will that my squeeze clear would never work on him. Then actually playing him and I think he only stopped one. good times!

Author: tony Reply #13 Posted: Jun 22 2010 12:06AM

retire the squeeze clear. it cost you 2 goals in game 3 on takeaways. 5-3. 5-0. 5-3. learn to shoot a pull shot. and keep working on your game it's improved again since i saw you in february.

Lol team alliteration takes the DYP (lame, i know)

Good job to Andy and Brian. Kept the entire tournament running on schedule.

It was fun being able to play others outside of Calgary again (despite less than impressive playing on my part).

Thanks tony.. got alot of good tips this weekend to work on. Hopefully the next time i see you the squeeze clear will be better still haha.

Author: Will Reply #16 Posted: Jun 22 2010 11:12AM

Haha. Darcy your posts are always hilarious. Tony is right though. While the squeeze does get the ball put most of the time it is not ever going to carry you as far as a pull or push shot would.

Author: Will Reply #17 Posted: Jun 22 2010 11:14AM

Oops I meant to say gets the ball out.
