Last night we did Singles and a Rookie DYP. In singles there was 16 players which filled the chart and was really cool for some opening round games. There was a fairly spread out chart with even amount of pro's on the top and bottom half.
In the opening round Christoff and Cam played a real battle of a game. Christoff was really stellar and won the 5 bar war if the parts that I saw continued through the whole match.
Tom and Darcy had a second round match to talk about... Darcy took the first game and was passing and shooting well - but Tom found his form and battled back to win.
Christoff beat Chad in a bit of an upset too, that two bar was just carrying Christoff and when he is firing it right it is tough to block.
Cam also took Garry to meat ball in the second round. With Cam's hand speed and pure instinct for the net he is always tough to beat. Honestly I can see Cam becoming a top 10 player in Edmonton pretty quickly if he keeps up the fight.
Simon knocked Christian off and then beat me for kingseat, Simon was playing clutch foosball the whole night but more on that later.
In the B side Tom beat Christian shooting well from the 2, and then I played Tom for the 2nd time of the night.
Both matches against Tom he took the first game, blocked me well and scored from the two bar. I found a way to score later in each match and zoned out his two bar a little better. I think the second match went to meat ball.
In the final I beat Simon in the first match (3 games) but Simon showed an amazing aspect of his game in the second set. The entire match I was playing my best foosball, I don't think I misexocuted more than once or twice and was playing smart the whole time. Simon showed the mental aspect of his game and maybe a bit of the experience too though. It came down to the second game I was winning 3-2 and he blocked 4 consecutive pass attempts and won the match. Really good playing and a well deserved title.
Congrats to Christoff on being the highest placing no pro... owe you $15.
Congrats to Christoff and Daniel for winning the Rookie DYP, it was a tough double dip in the final but they pulled it off.
Results: Simon Will Tom
DYP Christoff and Daniel Karli and Cam

Congrats to Simon on moving up to 3rd again.

Christoff into the top 15!

Thanks Will, it was a good match. My pull was working pretty good but like you said, my 5D was probably the difference. Good playing against Tom and Garry.
|
|
Ya your pull was pretty incredible. I remember the one that I tried to block with the far man on my 2 bar, I put it in a REALLY long position, I was not even going to give you dead man, but somehow you ripped it deep past the man and back into the hole. Crazy.

16 player chart @ $5 per head should have $80.00 in the pot. Net foos says the pot was only $55.00 did 5 people get in for free?
|
|
Paid out: $25 Simon $15 Will $10 Tom $15 Christoff (Highest Am) $5 Mike (2nd Highest Am)
Gateway money to the DYP.
I cant enter the highest am payouts into the netfoos account.

|
highest placing Am gets the same as second place... nice
