Last night we did a Pro/Am Draw, but we drew the pro's first and let them pick an Am as there partner when it was their turn to pick. I think it went pretty good for the most part, as the people with the first few picks didn't win the tournament and there were a lot of teams that had a chance at winning it.

In the first round Chad and Chris beat Garry and Spencer, I think Chris must have been shooting great... During a pick up game later in the night Chris hit a deadly pull side roller on me that I totally thought I was covering, I didn't move my goalie and asked him to do it again and he just DRILLED it. Seriously the hole was so small the ball had to go off the post and in just to get around the goalie.

Travis and Simon beat Christian and Cam also, I didn't see that game either but it was probably a pretty good match, Simon was shooting really well from what I heard.

Darcy and Daniel went on a really good run, I was pretty impressed with Daniels blocking when they played Chad and Chris, but it also took Darcy stepping his game to a level I hadn't seen before to win. Seriously Darcy keep it up, your roller looks like Christians now, walking it around and reading at the same time and you can just rip the ball too which is sweet.

We played Daniel and Darcy for Kingseat, and we won it probably easier than we should have... The ball wouldn't stop landing on my 3 bar, from anywhere on the table bouncing around every loose ball was on my 3 bar.

The two teams that lost their first matches - Christian and Cam, along with Garry and Spencer - both made there way all the way through the B side, only to play eachother for 3rd or better. Each team had to win 3 matches just to get to there. Spencer had really figured out how to block well by this time, and even Christian had a hard time scoring. Cam played really well in that game though too and Christian and Cam won in the 3rd.

Christian and Cam beat Daniel and Darcy in 2 games and then the final was set. Christian and I have played each other with various partners a lot of times in the final - and it seems like every time the matches are just epic. I don't think many have been played at this level though.

The first game I had serve, and passed and scored without being blocked, then Christian did the same. 1-1. Repeat, 2-2. I think in the entire first game there was one or two passes blocked and one save a piece and the game was 4-4.... I served, passed, got it on my 3 bar, and Cam came up with a huge block and clear, Christian grabbed the ball and buried it.

The second game they steamrolled us pretty good to take it to a second set. I think I only made 2 passes in that game but Jordan also blocked Christian a couple times - so Christian started shooting his pull shot. He scored about 10-12 longs in a row - Jordans D was not bad either, he WAS covering the long, I have no clue how the ball made it in. Anyway Christian and Cam beat us 5-1 in the first game of the second set and Jordan and I backed away for a while and thought things threw. We talked about switching because we felt demoralized a bit, but decided to give it one more ball to see if I could get things rolling a bit and see if Jordan could make a block or two. Also at this time I showed Jordan what Christians zone D was from his 3 and 5, which leaves only a ridiculously hard shot to hit (not posting it here because Christian is my partner and the Calgary guys might read this lol). Anyway Christian wouldn't change his D because he had no clue that Jordan could hit the shot, so Jordan started drilling it a few times, then hit some solid banks too. For the most part Cam blocked the shots but they were clearing Christian which was perfect. We won the 2nd game but still Christians pull was 100%.

In the 3rd and final game of the entire tournament, we went back and forth with all 4 of us playing really great foosball, shooting, passing, clearing... everything except blocking. Nobody could block passes or shots very often, the games were going pretty quick. Anyway in the last game at 2-2 Christian scored, but Jordan had just changed his D and got a SOLID piece of the ball but it deflected in, then Christian tried a strait that went off the outside guy and in, then I passed and scored and it was 4-3 for them, but Jordan has Christian figured out a bit now. Totally different look on his D and it was working. Christian had 3-4 shots to close the game but Jordan stood strong and put the ball up for me enough that I could score, and we won the game 5-4 in a really teriffic match.

Really good turnout by the way. 20 people plus more showing up later on... makes for a fun night.

Darcy moved up a couple spots, nice work!

Could be an epic battle for the top 10 spots coming on here...

9 Scaife, Darcy 978
10 Luft, Carey 970
11 Myszczyszyn, Tobin 956

Ben has been a solid fixture in the top 10 for a while but that is 3 tough opponents chasing him, we'll see who holds down those spots for the next few weeks here.

I predict Ben will pass Garry this week. I heard he has an awesome partner for the Byp.
