Whats the format? Rog you gonna have those DVD's? I think you're doing us all a huge favour by filming and allowing people to study their games I think it can be a valuable learning tool. It would be cool if other people had cameras too we could record at least the finals every week and maybe create something of a library of game film and watch progress or look for tenancies that you might not see on the table. Just a thought if you have a camera and want to improve your game....... |

I know Rog has a good video camera, but it's a little unfair to ask him to do all of the work for no money. What if we just all pitched for a community video camera and had someone take care of it. Then whenever someone wanted a video they could either take it home and burn it themselves, or pay $5 per copy or something. Also, it would help promote the league as we could do a compilation of highlights for youtube and link to it on the edmontonfoosball site. Just a couple of thoughts, I can organize this if other people think it's worth-while. |

I think that it is a great idea to get a camera for the league. It would help everyone game and would great to be able to make highlights. We should be hooking up the camera to the tv in gateway as well. We could spin that hanging one or use the one over the bar. Just run the cords through the dropped ceiling for easy hook up. Then more people could watch games with out crowding the tables. As for fund raising for HOF you have some ideas Darcy? We should get together some plans. I think we need to make a push for more rookie players. Advertising in the university and colleges. We should make up some new Tuesday Night posters. Chris?  I would also be willing to do another West Ed promotion but more focused on bring new players in. Maybe come up with a package that shows foosball on a world level (World Cup) all the way to our tuesday night. Pictures and info on tournaments ie. HOF, State tournaments, Canadian Nationals. Anyways just some thoughts but let's take some action!!Oh yeah I really like the camera idea! |

Good points Sam. Another west ed promotion would be a good idea, especially if we had a TV or a projector with a screen behind us showing some Pro type highlights. I'm sure we could find suitable video to put up, just to illustrate high level foosball. As for the fundraising, I've had someone tell me that they had a womens basketball team and in order to raise funds for trips the druid downtown would give them drink tickets to sell. They would sell each ticket for $10, and that gave the purchaser a drink and free entry from 8-10pm. Whatever money the group got from the tickets, they kept. With the amount of people we have, we should be able to pack that place, have a good time and make some money for the trip to boot. We could also start doing 50/50's on regular tuesdays or, if people were ok with it, we could also start charging a bit more for pro's to play in the weekly's and syphon off 10% of the winnings for the group who wants to go to vegas. Not saying this is the best idea, but it's something to think about. |

Do we need any licensing for 50 50? Another thing to work on is our web site. I think it was Christof and tobin that were talking about making profiles for edmonton players. Picture and info about how long they have been playing for what tournaments they have attended. List of trophies or prizes they have won in there career. It would be neat to have a trophy case at Gateway that could display winnings. I'm sure some guys have some crazy trophies. We should dress up our league area put Edmonton foosball Association banners over the tables. Make up some nice numbers for over head. Maybe a white board with the points with up coming events or what's happening the next tuesday. If we did all that took photos when we have a busy night maybe we could sell sponsorship for the tables. Being down in the gateway hole its hard to expose what we are doing on tuesdays. If we put in a team effort we should be able to help grow the sport of foosball in edmonton. There is what almost a million people in the Edmonton area? We should be able too attract at least a few more players this year! |

Yeah, we should sit down and talk about it sometime. I'm sure some of our members have ideas that we've never thought of. Either way, judging from what I see here, I think we should designate Sam and Christof our chief Interior Decorators. |

Anyone up for having another meeting? Lets make it a more formal one, at Gateway but not on a Tuesday night because it is too tough to play foos and have a meeting. Next Wednesday maybe? |

How about Sunday or Monday evening? I can't make it wednesday and you can't have a meeting without your chief interior decorator. |

Meet Sunday afternoon - 3:30 pm -6:30 pm. Make up a Edmonton League business type card that you can hand out to people. List all the days and places to play in Edmonton and area. Website info. etc. Make it free entry for new people wanting to play in the DYP nights for the first three entries. Should they win ,then make them play. Pay out Gateway bucks so they can come back to same location in the future. Have regular DYP's with highest beginner getting Free drink or pizza slices etc. |
