(I better not hijack the one ball thread anymore) The Freddy Classic December 19th Winning prize to coolest shirt! No repeats Johnny boy. New shirts only... Super ugly, super cool, super whatever so long as it is judged to be super cool!!!! Johnny's Bruce Lee shirt last year was a classic but this is a new year. Winning prize to top team - aka "Fred and partner"? Just kidding... Other prizes as well. Pro/Am Designated DYP doubles format if I get a say. Oldtimers drink special - Geritol & Red Bull Richard, Gerry, Pete, Tim, and Mitch and other greybeards like me, are you going to make it? Even Earl's wife is letting him out for the night... Since no one can beat Fred at posting trash you may as well come and beat him at foosball!!!! Who is in? Anyone able to let non forum guys know like Mitch, Richard etc.? |

Wow, underwhelming response... Ha ha! Same as last year (no response) so I only bring a few small prizes and then a whole bunch of people show up last minute. Sheesh!!! So I will try again. Who will be trying to make it so I can guess how many prizes to bring? Tim, I can't even bait you into a little trashy talking these days? I must be slipping. Flyboy, Nelson, Raven and others, you coming? Jeff, Craig, Moya u in? Someone going to let Slow know? Dave, you going to quit making love to your new iPhone long enough to post something witty here? Actually the witty part is optional, just ask Tim... Newer players u in? There could be some Lady Gaga playing cards, powderized reindeer penis, knockoff Mao watches and other INCREDIBLE Chinese prizes this year... Prizes so TACKY they are cool... Plus a Canucks jersey. Who knows, maybe they will even start winning some games? |

For the one ball tourny, I have seen 40th anniversary Hendrik, Daniel, Luongo and Tambellini knockoff jerseys available in China online. No, I don't know why Tambellini but they gave him #10 and are calling it a "Bure" jersey even though it is this years jersey and says Tambellini on the back... Regarding the Canucks jersey: My suggestion of a Salo jersey specifically for the '1-ball' tourny was an attempt at humour, referencing Salo’s rumoured anatomical shortcomings after last year’s Chicago series. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pZoYw3kcKo That being said any jersey WOULD be cool! Earl, don't be dismayed. I caught your Salo reference even though Fredrock seemed to miss the ball on that one. I even chuckled a little despite a so-low attempt at humour. Maybe Fredrock can find a Lance Armstrong jersey instead - they might be going for half the normal value as well. Gee, this type of humour is a tough nut to crack but once you get going, it gets a little less painful. Of course, I'm not the expert that Sami would be. |

Yes, totally missed it No one does low brow like Earl and Tim... Will try to make up for it with a little song below. Prices in CHinese RMB so divide by 6.7 to get to U.S. dollars. So about US$15-20 per jersey. They look good but don't last all that long if machine wash it. Material doesn't breathe that well though. Still beats paying C$150+ for one though. Hank Sedin has an A not a C on it so the CHinese suppliers obviously didn't get the "Captain memo" from Kurtenbach. Also they have Kessler and Burrows. Probably Daniel is the one I will buy though in say North American size large. After that just some fun gifts. Thoughts? My lowbrow song: In the movie Bridge on the River Kwai, the soldiers often whistle a marching song but never sing along to it. One of the more famous verses went like this: "Hitler, has only got one ball. Goering, has two but they are small. Himmler, has something Simlar [sic] And poor old Goebbels has no balls at all!" Hitler did only have one ball which may explain why he was such a POS. The rest you will need to ask Tim and Earl about... Hmmmnnnn... "Armstrong, has only got..." |
