This tuesday we did Super Singles, and it was pretty awesome. I have not seen this many good games in a while and I think it helped to straiten out points a little bit too - you can't really blame a partner for making you lose in singles, its all on you. In the top 8 chart I looked at it at the beginning, and there was no easy games. Every match could go either way, anyone could go two and out, and everyone had a shot at at least the money - if not winning. Ben and Garry had a game that went to the third game, Paul gave me a run for it, Simon beat Darcy on meat ball, and Christian beat Carey. In the second round Ben beat me meat ball, Simon beat Christian, and on the B side Carey beat Darcy and Paul beat Garry on meat ball. Paul was a little bit nervous about having to play in the pro category coming into this event, but I think he had the opportunity to prove why he has been sitting near the top 10 for a while. After paul nearly beat me, then beat garry, he took Christian to 5-4 meat ball third game. Crazy. Christian knocked me out and then proceeded to steamroll his way to another victory in typical christian style, still not number 1 but looks like maybe one more week away from taking that back. In the Amateur chart, Tobin and Chad played for King seat and Chad (who has a table at home now by the way) won, shooting well from his two but also hitting a ridiculous cut back pull to about the 3 hole. Its really tough to block and you have to really watch his options. Chris beat sam to end up leaving sam in 4th, and then Chris lost to Tobin and Tobin came back to double dip Chad in the final. We played two of the "Super singles" matches, one game race to 7, rookie player starts with a two goal lead. Sam and I played ours first, and it was a blow out. Everyone has come to expect me to play my best foosball pretty regularly, and I was doing that on this night... the problem was that Sam was also playing great, I hardly touched the ball and the game was over. 7-0 for Sam. Good job, nice playing. The second one was Ben and Chris. Ben fought back to erase the 2-0 lead and then the game went back and forth a few times until ben won 8-6. It was a great game to watch. This is probalby the first time we have had 3 people over 1400 points, anyone could be in first after next week. Paul is within 20 points of hitting the top 10. Tobin is within striking distance if he has a really good week, 40 points away from top 10. Ben is sitting 6th place and is close to hitting the top 5. Chad, Cam, Chris, and Sam are all near the 900 points mark and surely one of them will get over it this week. |

Thanks Will, I just thought I would have had more since the system only shows one loss for me. I guess I should have pulled a Tonya Harding on him before the match  |
