Topic: Question about points

If the K factor is set at zero for a specific event do the points count in the weekly calculation? The Pathmark/Nationals warm up are set at zero.

The K factor being set at 0 makes it not count for points. I just want our weekly points system to include Tuesday night tournaments. The pathmark/nationals warm up results are entered into our Alberta points system netfoos account - but in that one each event has its own K factor.

Open is 32, Semi/Rookie 16, DYP/Beginner events 8

The K factor represents the highest amount of points that can be gained in a specific match. If a player with 4000 points loses to a player with 800 points in Open it would change the players points about 32.

I noticed Jan 12th and Jan 19th Tuesday night tournaments the K factor is set to zero.

I havn't figured out why yet, does anyone remember if those are Handicapped or something? Handicapped events havn't counted for points ever, so you will notice a few events that are at 0 but I don't think those ones were. If you can find my write up maybe I mentioned it but I thought those did count for points off the top of my head. I'm not sure why they are at 0, and I'll change that once I find my write up about the event or announcing the event and see what I said about them.

The 2nd one is the right thread. It notifies that we were doing the Designated Pro/Am at a later date. I think the reason there was no post about that one after is because the final was played weeks later. I probably held back the points until it finished but then didn't change the ELO factor - just a guess. Either way I'll update them to 32 K factor now.

The first one, the DYP - I had that one set at 32 but it was deleted out at a later date. In the thread you just linked I posted an update on how it affected my points (-2 points over the event) but it must have been changed after.

That is the updated points with those events added back in - Tom jumped up a bunch but other than that ELO straitened itself out essentially.

Also Tobin jumped up a lot
