Congrats to Simon on moving back into 2nd place, probably going to gun down Christian soon too!

We were very lucky to win. Des and Darcy had a chance to win the first game. We ended up winning it 5 - 4. In the second game Darcy passed 5 times and scored 5 time and beat us 5 zip. We won the third. Will let us through his match and Double dipping Christian and Sam was a surprise. Mike played a very strong D and kept control of most of the loose balls. Mike scored some key goals in the two matches. Both matches went to the third game meat ball. Mike one timed a rebound off Sams two for the win in the second set. Sam ripped some wicked pull shots from two bar. Christian played great as usual.

It turned out that my partner Jarrell was a pretty solid player, and it was at least disputable that he was too good to be my partner in a limited event - so we decided not to continue. He didn't know the rules (serving hole etc) but had a little bit of tournament experience before and if we had continued and won the tournament I wouldn't have been happy knowing that I had stopped everyone else from having a partner as good as mine.

When I agreed to partner with Jarrell I thought he was going to be a pure newbie - so to be honest I kind of did it as a charity case. It backfired on me when he started shooting snake shots and had a pretty solid 2 bar. That is why we backed out of the event, I didn't take any payout but gave jarrett the 3rd place money (that is where we finished) because he drove up from red deer to be my partner in the event. I didn't want to send him home without the winning that he deserved but didn't feel comfortable keeping it. I left as to avoid any confrontation which was seemingly inevitable.

Thanks for doing a nice write up Simon - Christian said that the final was a pretty epic match.

Also Mike deserves some props for hanging in there at clutch times... 5-4 in the 3rd game against Chris and Garrett, then Darcy and Des, then twice against Sam and Christian. Pretty sweet tournament when the team that wins the event was almost knocked out of it 4 seperate times.

Any comments on having points limited events? We could even do something like a 2400 limited draw, where we just make sure that none of the teams add up to over that many points...

ya, thats right I forgot about the match against Chris and Garret. Chris played the best I have seen him play on Tuesday. His roller was strong both sides and his five has really improved. They really should have beat us.

Chris is by far the most under ranked player in my opinion - probably because he doesn't ask pro's to be his partner all the time so BYP's hurt his rank... I would guess that if I calculated only DYP's as counting his points would be higher...

Thanks guys, Ya that was a real fun game. Close one too and Garret cleared really well, gave us a chance.

Ya my rank is pretty low lol. But im sure it will come around as long as I keep working at it.
