Last night we did a DYP, it was a pretty good tournament. Some exciting first round matches included Christian and Ed playing against Cam and Des. Des and Cam are both starting to become known for pulling off early round upset wins, and this time they did it together. In the third game they won it, with Cam scoring a couple from his 2 bar and Des playing a patient game and shooting well.

Paul and Daniel came pretty close to knocking off Darcy and myself also, after taking the 2nd game 5-1 they couldn't carry the momentum to win the match but it was a good fight. Daniel blocked well and Paul shot probably 60% through the match.

Ben and Conrad were one of the pre-tournament favorites in my books anyway. Ben is always solid, and while it was Conrad's first time out to our tournament (along with his friend and Christian's parter Ed) he sure can play foosball.

Conrad and Ben were playing Brian and Sam, Sam was hitting a 4 hole shot just perfectly, and with a pretty invisible take off on his pull - and his 5 was hanging in there too. Brian was blocking Ben ok, but Ben was scoring his goals too, the match went back and forth a bit. Ben and Conrad were switching well throughout the night, and I think it came down to some good switches and both players scoring big goals. Ben and Conrad won 5-3 in the 3rd game.

For the Kingseat game Darcy and I won a close one against Ben and Conrad. It is tough to play agianst people with Conrad's style. He scored his first 2 or 3 shots on me then Darcy and I had to switch. Darcy made a few more blocks than me but it was a tough match.

Christain and Ed started climbing there way through the B side of the chart, beating Cam and Des on there way back through for some redemption. Christian was really starting to get it going and Ed was scoring a goal or two a game too. Ed was shooting a tricky back pin from his 2 bar that was tough to block, also he banked pretty well out of it too so he certainly carried his weight in the duo.

Ed vs Conrad to go to the final on the first night they came out - its been a long time (maybe this has never happened?) since two players in there first night at our league finished in the top 3. Christian and Ed won and made it to the final to face Darcy and I.

It was a tough match in the final, Darcy and I won, but the match had its scary points. I had probably 3-4 shots to close out the win but I couldn't put the ball past Ed's Defense - I think the goal I did score bounced off a couple guys into the net.

Good tournament all around.

In the DYP #2 Sam and Carlos won it with a double dip in the final. Good playing guys!
