Simon had a really good post on another thread with some advice about how to handle vegas, and I have never played a tournament in Vegas so I'm sure it is going to be different than other events. Vegas is sweet and we will have our fun on the town for sure.
Here is the event schedule for men, assuming none of us can find mixed partners. It is tough to find chicks to play with because there is obviously a lot more dudes at the tournament - also sometimes its not worth putting in the effort in that event because you will be worn out, anyway I took out the womens and mixed events from this schedule, it is a personalized schedule of what we could plan for and what each event is.
Wednesday - When we arrive I will hit the tournament room as soon as I can, talk to some friends and then get practicing. I want to make sure my game is adapted to the tables 100%. They will have new balls and new tables, so everything will feel a little bit different than league night here. After I put in 2 hours of adjustment time, I'm out of the tournament room until the next time I sign up for something. 7:00 Goalie Wars 9:00 Forward Shoot Out 11:00 DYP Thursday 11:00 Reffing Clinic - I'm going to this 2:00 Expert Singles 5:00 Amateur Singles - the lowest ranked singles event don't miss this 8:00 Handicap Doubles - *PLAY IN THIS EVENT 10:00 Open DYP1 - This will be the biggest DYP and your best chance of drawing a top pro master to partner with which is fun Friday 1:00 Open Singles 4:00 Pro Singles ** 6:00 Amateur Doubles - lowest ranked doubles event 10:00 Open DYP2 Saturday 1:00 Open Doubles 4:00 Expert Doubles 7:00 Pro Doubles ** 9:00 League Doubles - essentially a BYP $20 per person Sunday 12:00 Master Limited - ***PLAY IN THIS 8:00 Two Ball DYP 10:00 Roto DYP

* the Handicap doubles works like this, everyone is given a point spot based on rank, Darcy, Paul, Sam, Chad, Scott, Dan and Cam are all ranked Beginner for this event, so you will be ranked a 4. Simon and Ben are ranked Am, you are 5, Christian and I are Expert, so we are 6. Pro's are 7 and Pro Masters are 8. If you are a beginner and partner with a forward that can score against Pro Master goalies, you have a good chance in this event.
** Pro Singles and Doubles - if I was ranked Am I would consider skipping these. Singles is right before Am Doubles, and pro doubs is on Saturday night which is not as fun. Open and Pro will both be essentially impossible to win for any of the Beginner teams from Edmonton, but I would rather play in Open because it is more fun to lose to Tony Spredeman than some random pro no one has ever heard of.
*** This is the best part, it isn't too visible on the flier, but because lots of you are ranked beginner you can partner with Pro Masters, they can ONLY partner with Beginners. The event is Sunday at noon, so spend Thurdsay night asking Fredrico, Tony, Ryan, Billy, Rob and the other top pro masters if they will partner with you. You will probably have to pay there entry fee but thats ok because you will probably win it back if you get Rico, Tony, or Ryan. Am's partner with Pro, Experts partner with Experts in this event. Needless to say, it will be tough for any expert team or pro/am team to beat Tony Spredeman with a half decent beginner goalie.

Make sure you leave room for DYP's also. They run a new DYP every couple hours that aren't on the flier. As soon as one fills up with 8 teams (all players must not be in other events) they start it. These are fun becasue you can draw a player from any state, the UK, China, Japan, Germany, who knows. It is fun, and the event only lasts a couple hours. These might be a better option than playing in package events for some people heading down there. $10 bucks an event would get you 20 DYP's for the same price as a package and registration fees.

Also... make sure you play in Open, because Highest placing Beginner, Am, and Expert win a package for the US Open. To be the highest placing Beginner might just need one win, or a lucky draw.
