It is the youth group final game from last night, close tournament and just a total blast for the kids...

Last night the EFL put a Tornado, Warrior, and 2 Fireball tables into a youth group to host a big tournament of Jr High and High School students. We had a total of about 60 kids show up and 34 that played in the tournament. In the last couple months some of the kids have been practicing and really doing there best to get good so that they could win the tournament.

It was certainly not a tournament experienced group, but we got in quite a few games with the kids throughout the night and by the end of the night a few kids were completely hooked. The top 3 teams that played in the kingseat, b side final, and final matches were all pretty good actually. It was really cool to see a grass roots movement of foosball players.

What might keep the interest of these budding foosballers is the following.Create a another category at the April tournament, have them pre-register(mandatory),increasing the likelihood that they will actually show up to play. They need to see what the possibilities, what the potential of playing is,what,if they are so inclined, they can aspire to.They have to witness, that is see and feel the intensity of an actual tournament, something which will draw them in and possibly keep them there.

P.S. Keep up the good work.

Thanks PU - We have a lot more good stuff like this in the works already.

The WEM Fireball Tournament flier has a U-18 event listed for the Saturday of the tournament. I talked to several of the kids about it, and we will be promoting the heck out of it in the mall with a big "Kids/Youth play for free" sign. I figure we should get a decent turnout of U-18 players, we also are having two youth groups hand out fliers a week before and a day before the event.
