EMAIL YOUR REGISTRATION IF YOU ARE PLAYING IN THE MALL TOURNAMENT!

The only people that are going to get the Free Tee Shirt are the players that have emailed me. With almost 50 Registrations already I don't plan to make extra tee shirts. I am only making shirts for PRE REGISTERED PLAYERS. Please email edmontonfoosball@gmail.com and tell me:
Events playing
Shirt Size

I have only 16 players from Edmonton registered! I know that WAY more of you plan to attend the tournament, but if you want the FREE T-SHIRT you will have to send in an email! I don't care if you are my closest friend or if you are helping me set up the event or anything. I emailed myself a registration, so you should too.

Will, can you give us an idea as to the number of out of province registrants?

Author: Will Reply #2 Posted: Feb 25 2011 11:02AM

Saskatchewan has at least 12-15 coming, both from Regina and Saskatoon.

Also it looks like we will have a decent turnout from Washington/Oregon players.

Edmonton players - only 19 of us have registered so far, and that includes the registration email I sent myself. I know that at least 30 - 50 players from Edmonton will show up, so just send me the email first.

This is what I'm using to count the number of players that I should expect for the event, so EMAIL ME YOUR REGISTRATION IF YOU ARE GOING TO PLAY.

It will take you less than two minutes and it will make my life a lot easier, help me out.

Out of town players - Good job, you are winning the registration race, we have more out of town players registered than Edmonton players!

Will,I was curious as to when, and if, the seeding for the upcoming tournament is to be posted.Presumably,at least for the open events, you have most of the registrations by now.

I'm merely curious because of the new ranking system and how it will be applied to the tentative rank of individual competitors.

The seeding will be based off of our "Western Canada Points".

Some competitors may be unranked by the start of the tournament, we will slot those players in as we did with our players for the "starting point". If more IFP Pro Masters show up, they will have the same starting point as Eric Dunn, if IFP Pro's show up they will be slotted in at 1500. IFP Expert's will start at 1400, and IFP Amateurs will start at 1100.

Unranked players will be started off at Beginner, but could be bumped to Amateur depending on the skill level. If a player is unranked they would need to work their way up to Expert or Pro by winning.

Will, IIRC seeding is only used for the round robin. If there are 5 groups then the top five seeds are split into the five groups. Then the seed 6 thru ten are split into the five groups with the 6th seed in group 10, 7th in group 2 ect. Is this correct?

One more thing. Is the seeding for the double elimination bracket is then based on your results in the round robin?

Author: Will Reply #9 Posted: Feb 27 2011 5:55PM

Seeding is used to draw the groups.

The double elimination seeding is based on groups, tiebreaks will be based on games then Western Canada Points.

i.e. if three players do not lose any matches, but one of them lost games, the player that lost a game in a match is the 3 seed. The other two players would be ranked based on Points, based on the fact that neither lost any games or matches.

In a five group format is the number one seed in the same group as number 6 seed or number 10 seed?

Author: Will Reply #11 Posted: Feb 27 2011 7:17PM

#10

Author: Will Reply #12 Posted: Mar 1 2011 4:07PM

We now have 20 Edmonton players registered (I know that more of you are going to come - just sign up).

Out of town players still have more registrations in than Edmonton players.

Email me your info!
