This week we did a Pro/Am Draw. Pro/Am's are usually pretty good, and have a lot of really good matches, this week was no exception. There is a lot of pride in winning one of these, whether you are the Am or the Pro - it takes a team effort to win, and especially to be able to work together and overcome difficulties. I saw a few examples this week of teams losing one game or match, then solving the weakness or problem and fixing it before the next game/match.
Chris and Cam, and also Carlos and Darcy were both good examples of that, coincidentally both teams had pretty good results this week. I saw both teams make adjustments against me and Carmen in our matches, and that ended up being the two teams that we lost to. In both matches my team had one dominant game, but ended up losing because of changes that were made by the other teams. Chris and Cam used switching and high percentage shooting to win the match, Darcy was blocking really well and Carlos figured out my zone and scored 3 goals from the back to beat us in the other match.
I'll skip right to the kingseat match. Ben was on fire, Patrick was using his 2 bar effectively and they won quickly and easily against Christian and Devin.
After Christian and Devin fought back into the final there were 4 really close games, again the turning point has to be the adjustment made by Devin in the final as opposed to the kingseat game. Devin was blocking a lot better, but more importantly clearing the ball very consistently - even burying a few goals too. It is impressive to see a player that has only a few weeks of tournament style experience under his belt making smart changes in the middle of a tournament like that, and really that is what makes foosball so much fun. The mental changes and teamwork that were displayed this week was incredible, good foosin everyone!
Results: 1st Devin and Christian 2nd Ben and Patrick 3rd Cam and Chris

Worth noting is that we finished Super Singles this week too, huge congrats to Simon for winning 1st place in tier 1 and winning the super singles event too. He did it in dominating fashion without losing a game, and really showed that he is in a class of his own in singles right now.
