Last night we had special guest Ang Karmis in town from Calgary, and he added a bunch of excitement to the No 2 Pro DYP. The turnout was perfect again for the venue, and it seemed to be a lot of fun. Carlos started off the night by winning the Bounty Hunt, cleaning up $39 in one swift shot. He continued the excellent play as Ritchie and Carlos played against Chad and I in their first match. In Game 1 Carlos buried two goals from the back and Ritchie managed to find a good rhythm scoring on Chad - which was hard to do on this night. In Game 2 it was Chads turn to score the goals, and I put in a couple more, we took game 2 quickly. Game 3 was a different story, Ritchie passed and scored on his first 3 possessions, and Chad and I found ourselves in a 4-3 hole after Carlos converted yet another shot. Chad and I used switching throughout the game and found a way to scrape out a late win. Ray and Conrad played Ang and Maria in the first round also, Ang was shooting really well all night, but in this match Conrad kept up too. This match could have gone either way, but Ray's bank ended up in the wrong net on meat ball and Ang and Maria progressed. Maria was a shut down defender the rest of the night, blocking Ben, Jamie, and myself all with great success. Ang and Maria fought there way to the kingseat match and then ended up taking a very respectable 3rd place. In the final Chad continued blocking the way he had all night, he was really the difference all night. I don't think there was a match that I outplayed the opposing forward, but Chad blocked and scored really well throughout the night. I can't think of even one slop goal that went in our net (except for one when I went back). My shooting was really good all night, and apart from Maria I scored really well on everyone. Jamie also was good again, I don't know what it is with Jamie but he is a fighter, and finds a way to win matches. He probably won't even read this though!
