We had 13 initial applications, and as a group decided on a fair method to pick the roster between the players.
The final Team Canada Roster is as follows: Mario Ianuzzi Nhu Tran Darcy Scaife Christian Dunn Will Stranks Barry Willick Ben Wilkins
Congratulations to all of the team members! As one of the team members I know we will be doing everything possible to represent our country well!

For the first time, almost all of our players will have the opportunity to do multi-table training leading up to the World Cup. With TeamPlay in Toronto and in Edmonton we have a Bonzini and Fireball tables, it really should give us an advantage that we haven't had before.

How did that hack Barry Willick make the cut?
Are you related to Marco? If you watch CFL you must cringe every time they attempt your last name.
Sorry. Iannuzzi - (eye/ah/new/see!)

Wow it's been four years already!? Well it's not the "A team" but it looks like it's a team here that can really make some real noise this time around good luck. A great bunch of competitors they are with lots of talent and lots of skill. Go team Canada go!! Ha ha I wrote this post entirely by my voice and not with my fingers. New technology from the iPhone 4S.

Will should the Team have included a couple of Women and Senior players would the events in the Tier II countries been there for them? No players from the East(Quebec) put in for Women?
The invite is still open to any Women, Juniors, or Seniors to go compete. Only the mens division is divided into the World Cup tiers. We are still in Tier 1 for the World Championships.
I suppose I'll announce the players/teams participating in the World Championships now that we have decided those spots also: Singles 1 Mario Ianuzzi Singles 2 Christian Dunn Doubles 1 Mario Ianuzzi and Nhu Tran Doubles 2 Will Stranks and Ben Wilkins

Congrats to all those on Team Canada!
I would love to put together a Womens team to go down one year (and we'd have a kickass one too), but as of right now it's hard to justify the expense to go down there.

How did that hack Barry Willick make the cut?
By default. No other senior put their name in :)

haha... I WISH I could play seniors... unfortunately still have to wait a couple years.

Does anyone know if the Roberto Sport table has the etched glass finish playing surface still?
The Roberto Sport tables that are in North America with telescoping rods, blue and red men, etc are not at all like the ones in the ITSF tournaments.
The Kombat and Adrenaline are the model's we will be playing on. To see a nice looking model watch this video:

I'm not sure what she's doing but I'm relatively certain it's not playing foosball.
That has to be the worst add that I could imagine for a foosball table. Even not understanding what they were saying does not make it any worse but it probably helped!
Yabbut Will, that table has telescoping rods. The computer graphic of the table has the rods going through, but the videos I have found have telescoping rods. I've played on the old ITSF Roberto Sport it was a good table besides the ball, but it had an etched glass surface. I'm looking for a table with telescoping rods for my kids, that's why I'm interested...
After looking again I guess I've seen them with both, must be an option.

That didn't work...
Use google translate and go to the Roberto Sport main page, then click products, then Winner Pro table.

Telescoping rods are awesome. Only thing better is balls that wobble when they roll. Ramps are up there too.
