Last night we did a BYP and had a bunch of strong teams out. Garry and Simon played Darcy and Dan to get to the kingseat game, and it was a pretty good match. Darcy came out firing well, picking holes on Garry and getting him to jump a little bit for the shots he wanted too. Dan had some early success blocking Simon too. Game 1 went to Darcy and Dan, but in game two the momentum shifted. Simon really found his rhythm shooting - Garry used his passing series to find Simons 3 row really well too. Dan and Darcy couldn't rally back in game 3. Simon and Garry played against Sam and I for the kingseat game. They got up 4-1 in the first game, but we got a few really quick breaks and tied the game up, then Sam made a really good pass from his 2 to my 3 and we completed the comeback. In Game 2 again Simon and Garry found the momentum and really took it to us. Game 3 went to meat ball, but this time Simon amazingly caught Sam's wall pass to me. Sam ripped the ball really hard too, but Simon made it stick to his 5, then passed and scored a nice rolling long to win the match. In the B side final Sam and I played really well and made it back to the final again, playing Simon and Garry. This time Sam really found his game - and so did Garry. The first 5-10 minutes produced only a couple goals. Both Goalies were blocking everything we could throw at them for a long time. I tried switching to pull but couldn't score really well like that either. I think for the most part both teams just rattled goals in and played sloppy foosball for two games, which Sam and I won. In the 3rd and final match Sam kept up his stellar play, and I got my 3 row hitting a few long pulls that found tin. The 5 row battle was about 50/50 the whole way through, but Simon didn't get his 3 bar going the way he had it in the kingseat game. Sam also really stepped up his blocking to force Simon into some shots he was less comfortable shooting. It was a great night for Sam and I as we both gained enough points to move up a few ranks!
