a month ago, Tony Tong agreed to be my partner and we had an understanding that i was playing the foward position to his shegrin. 2 weeks ago, because i had 2 other possiblities as to my partner, good solid partners i may add, i started to have second thoughts about playing with Tony because of our foward dispute. So I called himm up again just to confirm that we are still a go and he say's "let it be marked in stone we are partners." So because I hold my word and I regrettfully tell 2 great people that i haave to decline. I get a call today, 5 days before the worlds and he tells me that he's been playing with a someone for 2 weeks now and he is a dedicated goalie. So he dumps me so he can play foward with this other guy. So now I need a partner , anyone? |

Dave, Most guys would just post looking for another partner. But since you we're discussing my "Chagrin" i'll just post. I can discuss it in person, but that would just go nowhere and be stupid. I thought i explained it to you earlier today, but apparently it must have really hurt your feelings or something. I posted on this board looking for a partner on Sept 2. After the post I had a few replies by email. You were one of the replies. There were others, so don't make it seem like you're the only one who had to tell someone else you'd committed. You wrote me an email saying you'd like to play together. I agreed. We started discussing / strategizing how we'd play best and then it turned into me becoming your goalie. Most people who know me know that i'm mostly a forward. We discussed the fact that we're both forwards, and I suggested it would make sense to play and see how things go during the tournament. I don't mind playing goalie for a guy if i think we have a chance and he's giving it his all. A few days pass and you phone me and ask me about certain other players and whether or not they are good goalies. You tell me to "sit on it" for a few days because you have not fully decided to go to world's yet and you'll "let me know" At this point I definitely have a right to source an alternate partner. I even email a few guys myself and ask them if they have partners yet. A day or two later, after you've asked your peers about my defense or my 2 bar or all out effort, you decide that i'm good enough to play goal for you. What a joke. I don't have to prove myself to you or anyone else for that matter. Never mind that you're not playing as a team player at this point, you write me about having problems with your "shot". I spend time replying (i have no time) and try to help you with your game, since i have more experience. I sincerely want you to become a better player. But no matter how good you get, there's still one thing you're missing. It's not what you say it's how you say it. And when you tell me to "sit on it" after committing, it's not me being flaky. You can ask around. I've had a wide variety of partners throughout Western Canada and have had both fun and good results, not only here but on the road too. I don't appreciate you coming on the board here and trying to paint me in a negative light. Also, on the phone today, nothing was said about playing with anyone for 2 weeks. If you had your ears on, you would have instead heard that i have been practicing and so has my new AD partner. Not together. Just practicing. There's no conspiracy against you here. And for the record, in 2007 (can't remember if it was HOFC or World's) I played mostly goal in SP doubles. I would say over 80% of the matches i was in the hole. With Garry Burgardt up front. That was the first time i committed to playing goal, so i know how to do it. And we had fun. And won some money. I'll play with mostly anyone. As a team. Not as someone's goalie. Not as someone's forward. As a team. Chemistry is very important. I'm not sure you understand that yet, but you will. Sorry for the long post. See you all in Vegas. And good luck to you all. |

Tony, if I meet you down there I will slaughter you on the foos table. Not only will I out class you on every bar, I will make that $500 I took off ya in Calgary look like child's play. I can't believe you ditched me not even a week before the worlds. Yes you did hurt my feelings, embarrase me, let me down, and leave me in a very vunerable situation. I asked you to be my partner because I thought you were a good man. I looked up to you cause you were older than me, a sharp guy, a good fooser, and you introduced me to my partner the previous foosapalooza where we eventually won rookie doubles. How could you do this to me Tony? How could you let your pride let you do that to you? Do you realize who you dumped!! I'm not sure you understand that yet, but you will. |

I have a partner now for am doubles. Thank You so much to all who have supported me during this unsettleling time with emails and phone calls, and even going out of your ways to meet with me. Special thanks to Fred, Jeff, Harvey, Tuan, Robert, Allan, Aaron, Michael, and my new partner. |

Did you give me a spot or something? No. It looked liked I was giving you the drop 95% of the time. So who was sandbagging? So your pathetic excuse was your tired. hahaha. WHAT A JOKE! 2. I've already beaten you for money, 5 straight sets. Yes you paid me your money, so why haven't you shut up yet? I have put up. You can't have class or be a gentleman and accept it or congradulate me?
