What a fun tournament last night, We had 21 players, and overall the games were really good. Thanks everyone for supporting this and coming out, I think its only up from here too!

OPEN:
1st: Simon and Christian ($50)
2nd: Garry and Shane ($30)
3rd: Roger and Mike
Highest team with a beginner: Will and Zak ($25)

BEGINNER:
1st: Ben and Phil ($25)
2nd: Cody and Jody
3rd: Zak and Jon

The turnout was better this week, and running the tournament with NetFoos made it much easier not to schedule conflict games.

Check www.netfoos.com to see the bracket and results.

The points do need to work themselves out a little bit still, its hard with few results to have accurate point systems. I know some guys will move up the list very quickly.

"I think its only up from here too!"

Looking at the past, nothing could be further from the truth. It will happen, however, if you can keep the foos fun - especially for new and beginner players (obviously). It is easy to forget this is the reason most people play (maybe the only reason until, perhaps, you got that deadly Sleemans hookup).

Always keep in mind: Foos with flukes and slop is better than no foos at all (unless your playing against Simon or Christian, in which case all the slop can get kind of annoying).

Any rejuvenation of interest in foosball is awesome. I wish you continued sucess growing your player base and the Edmonton foosball scene in general.

Ya I understand that in the past things have gone downhill after periods of time. I suppose that its probably true in this circumstance too, however I can tell you I am super motivated to have a continued foosball scene here. Also Gateway has helped a lot in promotions.

I'm not guaranteeing over 20 people a week for the next period of time, however I do think that we will have more than 20 in one year from now. Especially if we can get this running Canada wide, as is being discussed at http://tablesoccerca.ning.com/forum/topics/agenda-1
It might take some time to read that link...

And if he enters a tournament as a amateur or rookie his last name starts with a 'g'.

Withouth trying to cue the comedians on this message board to comment on my obvious substance abuse problems extending a half a decade or more back, I have to say, Holy frack I'm startin' to remember some funny shenannigans (sp?) from years ago...
