Topic: Canadian Nationals TSAC Vote

Author: Will Original Message Posted: May 19 2009 2:11PM

Hi Everyone,

I have just submitted an application to host the Canadian Nationals in Edmonton this October. The best thing about this tournament is that there will be $5000 added into the pot, along with 100% entry fee payout. Hopefully this creates some big news in our Canadian foos community.
Cheers,
Will

Great job, Will!

Words are not enough to express the thanks you deserve for what you've done and continue to do for foosball in Edmonton and Canada.

Let's have a vote on who has contributed the most to growing foosball in Canada in the last 10 years. And to all those who don't like to offend anybody, ties are not allowed. Feel free to argue about this and do take replies personally.

Eric, Barry, Will?

The above three came to mind initially and are examples only, you can pick somebody else.

Chris Thomas in Ottawa deserves a nod as well. He's been keeping a strong scene out there as well.

To put my name in a group with Barry or Eric is a long shot at this point. Hopefully in 10 years I will have done a lot to help Canadian foosball, that is certainly the biggest goal for me.

As far as helping foosball goes, Fred Gower must be #1 for that topic.

Hello from Sau Paulo Brazil,

Wow thanks for the kind words Will. I donīt think they are deserved but still very kind of you to say so.

My vote goes to any promoter, representative tournament director, coach, referee, or star player who has played for Canada. Since I am none of those, I can only thank those of you who are.

I am having a blast here in South America for a few weeks and playing some foosball on the side as well. You will be able to read all about it in Foosball Monthly in a couple of weeks!

Lots of Euros, somoe pull shots and even a couple of snake shots here. They are liking me but not my snake shot. Thanks for all the tips recently Vancouver players.

But I have one question, if they are using their dental floss for bikinis here, what do they floss their teeth with? I doubt my wife will let me try to find out ...

We are in Argentina and Chile in a couple of weeks.

Obrigado (Thanks),

Fred Gower

Well said Fred.

I personally think you can hardly pick a number 1 when it comes to this kinda thing. I think anyone who has done anything to promote the sport in any way ie, giving advice to running tourneys of any sort deserves a hats off in my books.

I, of course, personally know how difficult it is to promote this sport and anyone who has done anything positive for foos should be appreciated.

Thanks to everyone for all they do.

*hugs*

Moya

Oh whoops...didn't mean to imply that you should not count yourself.

Dood!! You should very much give yourself a great big pat on the back for what you have done for foos. Your contributions do not go unnoticed around the world and very few can say that.

*hugs* again

Fred, Moya, I said no ties!

Author: Will Reply #13 Posted: May 27 2009 12:38PM

The vote is finished: 100 percent in favour of running the tournament.

I will have an official announcement with more details done later, but this tournament is a go for sure now!
