| Topic: Gateway Singles Results Nov 5th and Point Update |

This week we did singles, and had a pretty good turnout. It was really exciting to see some of the peoples reactions to playing singles - I think it is something we should start to do a little more often. The draw was pretty fair, putting most of the top players in seperate brackets, except for Christian and Roger drawing eachother in the first round. That was the marquee matchup of the round, and Roger laid the smack down on Christian - who didn't look quite himself for the whole night. Garry was feeling quite under the weather, and I knocked him into the losers bracket in a match that conisdering how slow his hand speed was on tuesday should have been easier for me. The big story of the night though was Shane. For you lurkers who don't follow the action every week, take note that shane has now won several of the last events he has played in. If you know how I post you know that there is some random stats coming. Shane has either won or finished second in every event since Nationals. Shane won the Pro/Am and then Singles back to back, next week is BYP Open Doubles, so you can wait to see an update on the "trifecta" Congratulations to Darcy - Darcy took down the NoPro singles and is really one of the fastest learning players we have ever seen in Edmonton Foosball - and we have had a ton of them. A final congratulations to Tobin. Tobin won the highest placing No Pro and was a force again. I didn't draw him into No Pro accidentally but he was cool with that and I'll give him big props for that also. Will- You outplayed me ( and so did Shane) Whether I was 100% or not was not the reason why I lost. I might not have had any energy to shoot on my 3 bar- but I improvised, and in the end lost the 5 bar battle which was my undoing. |
