Oh its the Oregon State.... U rule in portland!! Canadians are coming on as of late eh.. i think i remember posting 2 years ago that Canadians would b owning the pro division.... Can we get a report Christian? Like tournout, key moments in matches etc? |

Christian played awesome. He beat Ryan Harvey in a 5-game slamfest. it was a great match to watch. There were 18 entries in OS, and it truly was wide open. Impressive victory for sure. The amateur dubs final featured your two reps vs our best kids...14 year olds. The kids won the first 2/3 set, but the Canadians took the last set easily for the W. They were giving a one point spot, which IMO was more than fair because neither of them were Am's, but we made an exception...and would have done it again. Way to go guys, great representation. Cheers. |

Thanks guys. The tourny was tons of fun and we met some really awesome people down there (Isaac being one of many). Hopefully we can start a relationship between the NW and Alberta/BC players and get more representation at out respective tourny's. As far as the tourny goes I think we were all fairly pleased at the end of the day. Saturday didn't go so well as we all had trouble adjusting to the tables and to new players at the same time but by Sunday I think we were more confident knowing what the styles were going to be. Congrats to Ben getting that first place finish I know you've been working hard for it and showed this weekend that you have the talent, brains, and confidence to get the job done. Thanks guys for playing doubles with me even though we came up short. OD was a tough field and in the no-pro we ran into a hot team of Randy and Mark who really played a solid mistake-free game. The field for singles wasn't huge but it was definitely scary. Looking at the list of entries there were NO easy matches. There were 10-12 legitimate contenders before you even factor in any upsets. Last years winner Ryan Harvey and Washington State winner Justin Shaw were among the entries along with former champs Rick Martin and Jack Lenty. The Open Singles final and A side final I played against Ryan Harvey who I had only played once previously in doubles in Washington but man is that guy ever fast. He definitely pushed the pace and I tried to hang in with him and it ended up being one of the most fun singles matches I've ever played. The ball may have stopped moving for a brief moment during the 4th game.........lol Can't wait to see everyone again..........especially at the boom boom room. |

Christian: Dude - I've never seen that level from a Canadian player before. Any canadian player. Good on you  And good on Simon for beating Jack L. 3-0, sending him to the B-side early. The thing that makes the tournaments in the Pacific NW is definitely the people. Mark and Rene, the owners of the Bull Mountain Bar and Grill made us feel at home from the time we arrived to the time we left. Hutch ran a great event, and made some tough decisions and stuck to his guns. That's integrity. He kept everything running smooth. Issac, great guy and promoter for foos. The players were all awsome and friendly in a competitive environment. Joeseph, my #1 fan thanks for your support even though you are a Flames Fan. Travelling with Christian, Ben and Andy was a Blast! I had a great time. And to the 4 people at the Boom Boom Room, well, hmmmm, thanks pretty much sums it up. To bad we didn't finish the turnip and porkchops. |

This seems like a fitting thread for this. Congrats to Fred Gower for wimninh Open doubled in a tournament that had twice te tournout?! No 14 year old kids though in the finals i dont think. He also won forward shootout and the international cup for Canada. Proud moment for Canada. (\(\ ( -.-) o_(")(") |

For the International Cup, Team Canada was myself and Alberta's own Chris Norstrom. Chris was just voted most improved player in Shanghai and scored two sweet pull shots from the 2 rod at 4 in the morning to win the gold for Canada over a Team of U.S. semi pros working for Intel in North East China. I am sure that your tournament had a lot better players. But I invited China and India this year. Next year maybe Russia too. I think that will put us over 3 billion people to draw from. We might need more than 4 tables - damn!!! Ha ha. |
