Hello, I would like to invite you to the 2011 National Championships/ 2nd Annual North American Cup June 30 – July 4, 2011. There are two great events at one tournament. We have the Nationals with players from all over the country attending to compete for $45,000 in cash and prizes. This tournament is an ITSF National Doubles Qualifier. We have the following divisions for teams Open, Expert Amateur and Women’s teams. All the requirements are listed below. NORTH AMERICAN CUP TEAM INFORMATION: REGISTRATION FORM IS ON THE BACK OF THE FLIER, GET YOUR FLIER AT http://ifptour.com/tournaments/2011/nationals.html

TEAM REQUIREMENTS: Each team, Open, Expert and Amateur shall be made of six team members with up to two alternates and one coach. Players can only be on one team.
TEAM REQUIREMENTS WOMEN’S: Women’s team shall have a minimum of four members and a maximum of six with up to two alternates & one coach.
ALTERNATES: Once an alternate is placed on the team event form, the alternate must play out the entire match. The team member that was replaced must sit out the entire match. An alternate can be substituted during the match if a team member becomes ill. If this occurs the member that had to be replaced will be out for the rest of the match.
TEAM STATE RESIDENCY: All members of a team must have been a resident or co resident of that state for at least six consecutive months. Must have a valid ID and must possess a recent bill with his name and address on it. These proofs of residency must be shown at registration.
CHARTS: The charts shall be a random draw, with no seeding. It will be single elimination.
MATCHES: Matches shall be played in this order Doubles, Singles, Doubles, Singles, and Doubles. The first Doubles and Singles matches shall go at the same time. All games except tie breakers shall be to five. The third game of each set shall be winning by two points up to eight points. All matches shall be played no matter the game wins. Total points shall determine the winner of the match. The team with the most points shall advance on the chart. In case of a tie a singles match one game to seven win by two shall be played. A tie breakers name must be written on the match form before the match starts. Tie breaker players cannot have already played a singles set during the match. All matches will start on time. Recall procedure will be strictly enforced. ITSF rules of play apply. IFP points will be used to determine rankings.
EVENT FORMS: All event forms must be filled out in full prior to the start of a match. Be sure to write the tie breaker player on to the form before the match starts. The teams are responsible for checking the charts and completing their event form before the start of the next match.
OFFICIALS: If an official is requested, then one member from each team not playing in the match will be responsible for officiating matches together. For Finals, IFP will assign officials to officiate the match. This is not an option; these matches will have Pro Certified Officials.
REGISTRATION FORMS: All forms must be filled out completely and turned in by July 1, 2011 by 10:00PM. Only cash and money orders made out to IFP shall be accepted. Forms are on our web site. Click on the North America Cup Link to print your copy. They are in the player magazine and will be available on site at the tournament.
TEAM FEES: Open team fee is $120.00. Amateur fee is $120.00 Women’s fee is $80 which helps cover awards.
TEAM REGISTRATION: The captain of each team must sign in July 1, 2010 by 10:00 PM. He shall bring his entire team in uniform to the tournament room, by 9:45 AM. If there is more than one team representing a state then we will have a single elimination play off to determine the team to represent that state. Only one team in each division can represent a state.
OPENING CEREMONY: The State Teams shall be lined up in alphabet order then each team shall be introduced up on the stage during opening ceremonies. Team Captains will introduce each team member by name and ranking.
UNIFORMS: All teams must have team uniforms. Each uniform should have the players name, city and state on the front. Each shirt Must the state name centered on the back. Team jackets and pants are suggested but not required. Teams with sponsors may display their sponsor’s sign at the end of their table during the match. Sponsors may bring banner for display and will be announced throughout the weekend.
STATE FLAG: State flags are recommended but not required. If a team has a flag it should carry it across the stage during the opening ceremony.
DISPUTES: All disputes shall be submitted in writing to the head official for the North American Cup. After a review of the situation, the head official and tournament director will make a final ruling. All final rulings are final.
